Italian Bread II

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2003
Excellent Recipe! This bread was a hit! It was sooo yummy, and moist inside yet had the "perfect" crunch on the outside. I would definitely recommend putting a small pan of water in the bottom of oven, and half way through the cook time spritzing with some water. I am making another batch of this bread as I type this!

Coconut Macaroons IV

Reviewed: Feb. 12, 2005
Awesome! A definite hit in our house. The only thing I did differently was after beating the egg whites to stiff peaks, I beat in the sugar for several minutes then folded in the cornflakes and coconut. Also, I added some white chocolate chips- very very yummy! I have to make another bath today because these just flew out!

Urban Legend Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Mar. 12, 2005
A very good recipe! I only gave it 4 stars because the first batch I made came out rather dry- for the second batch I added an extra egg and was very impressed! Thank you!

This is my husbands new favorite way to have pork. I followed the recipe exactly and was very pleased with the results- I served it over white minute rice. :) Thanks

Best Bread Machine Bread

Reviewed: Feb. 17, 2006
I absolutely love this recipe. Some modifications that I make: I substitue the sugar with 2 very generous tablespoons of honey, add just a pinch extra salt and add 1 tablespoon of softened butter to the bread machine with the other ingredients. I only make the dough in the bread machine, then I take it out and put it in my silicone bread pan, split the top length wise with a knife and stuff the bread with pieces of butter (1 tablespoon total) then I brush the top of the bread with melted butter and bake in a 375 degree preheated oven for about 30 minutes. I also put a pan with water on the bottom of the oven, i just think the bread comes out so much better that way. My family loves this recipe, we use the bread for sandwiches, toast and just eat it plain! yummy

All American Apple Pie

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2006
Absolutely fantastic! I was concerned when i made the crust that it was going to be dry, but it actually came out flaky and buttery tasting (I greased my pie pan with butter!) Everyone loved this pie and I kept hearing "This is the best pie I have ever had!" Thank you!

Acorn Squash with Apple

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2006
Fantastic! Thanks for the great idea on peeling the squash. This came out terrific, I drizzled about a tablespoon of Vermont maple syrup over the mixture to add some extra flavor. It came out great- Only complaint...it just wasn't enough- I will double the recipe next time.

Cake Mix Cookies VII

Reviewed: Oct. 16, 2006
This is a a really good recipe, but like some others I have modified it. I use Devil's food cake mix, add in about a tablespoon or two of softened butter, I use 1/2 chocolate chips 1/2 white chocoloate and chopped pecans or walnuts whatever I may have at the time and then roll the cookies in powdered sugar before I put them in the oven. I bake them until right before they are done so that they stay soft for days!

Waffles I

Reviewed: Oct. 16, 2006
I was very unimpressed with the flavor of these. I tried what other reviewers had suggested, added extra sugar, some maple syrup, extra vanilla and some cinammon. My 4 year old though these were great, so I will freeze the rest.

Chicken Florentine Casserole

Reviewed: Oct. 16, 2006
Fantastic! This was a huge hit- even with my 4 year old. I sauteed two 10 ounce bags of fresh spinach with some olive oil, salt and pepper. I omitted the italian seasoning (by accident), and served this over penne. It came out awesome! I also seasoned my chicken w/ salt, pepper and garlic powder. Yum Yum! Thanks, I can't wait to have this for leftovers tomorrow.

Sugar Cookie Icing

Reviewed: Oct. 17, 2006
Although the taste is good- the measurements on this recipe are very wrong. Definitely change the tsp to TBSP and you should be allset. A good basic icing.

The Best Rolled Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2006
I had misplaced my aunt's sugar cookie recipe, and because of all the high ratings, decided to give this one a try. I still like my Aunt's recipe better, these seemed a little dry. I made about a dozen off these filled with jam. I rolled the dough in sugar put in a thumbprint and filled w/ Jam. Everyone loved the jam cookies, but the others (which I frosted) where just alright, definitely not the best.

The BEST Banana bread I have ever made! I followed the recipe pretty much as it was written. I used 3 large banana's sliced them and added them to the mixer after the dry ingredients. It came out awesome and there are small chunks of bananas which are heavenly!

Cindy's Pumpkin Pie

Reviewed: Oct. 4, 2010
I am giving this 4 out of 5 stars because I thought it lacked a little flavor- but everyone else loved it. Perhaps I am just too critical of my own baking, but it was still very good. I may try adding a little molasses next time, or using a different flavor ice cream, but overall it's a good recipe!
