About this Cook
I have been married for 30 years and didn't start cooking unitl after I was married. I have tried a lot of recipes over the years and really love the convenience of this site to be able to search thru 1000's of recipes. I hardly ever cook the same thing twice. In addition to cooking, my hisband and I love to watch the Steelers during football season and the Lady Vols during basketball season.
My favorite things to cook
I really love to cook meals that are fast and easy. I love desserts too, but my daughter does all the baking.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Definetly Chestnut/Sausage dressing for Christmas and/or Thanksgiving dinner. Saurkraut and Pork for New Years Day dinner. And we enjoy making homemade ice cream at least once during the summer.
My cooking triumphs
Just recently, my future son-in-law complimenting my Frogmore Stew recipe. He actually called me from a resturant in Charleston,SC to tell me mine was better. You can find the recipe on Allrecipes.com.
My cooking tragedies
I have never found a good cornbread recipe that I like.

Pizza Casserole
This was so easy and soooo tasty. I followed the recipe exactly, but used a stick of pepperoni that I cut up into small bite-sized pieces.

Flatlander Chili
This was a great basic chili recipe. I didn't change a thing, but did use Spicy V-8 juice.

Spinach and Potato Frittata
This was very good. I used white potatoes and more spinach like other recommendations. I love making Frittatas. Just use what you have on hand. I have the perfect size large skillet. I cook everything in the skillet, pour on the eggs and pop it in the oven until the eggs are done.
