I started cooking at age 5. I watched every cooking show available on WHYY, till the birth of TV FOOD Network. I attended Culinary Arts in high school and I was quickly sent out to work (instead of attending school). At age 15, I was a pastry chef at a French grill restaurant. From there I worked as a restaurant line cook, in delis, and pizza places. I enjoy baking and hot food preparation. I want to someday, write a simple cook book for homemakers that is practical and tastes good! I am in no way a foodie. I believe there are many things in this world that should not be combined. Food should never be intimidating.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Chinese New Year, Christmas cookies, Clam Bakes, Pig Roasts, and Sunday Dinner
My cooking triumphs
Make Chinese Dumplings by hand
Mastering Chocolate
Biscotti
Making Soups
Fresh Pasta
My cooking tragedies
A macaroni and cheese casserole, long, long ago and a Ethiopian Yam stew, not too long ago. My husband says there are only 2 things I have cooked in 15 years that he did not like. I blame the recipes!
