Slow Cooker Barbeque

Reviewed: Feb. 11, 2014
This is unreal! I've made this several times with homemade BBQ sauce. I used the "Nana's Barbeque Sauce" from this site, which was a simple, mainly ketchup based sauce. Serve on buns with a little cornbread on the side. Delicious!

Once again, the reviews were correct! This recipe was not only SUPER easy, but it was delicious. I can see myself trying this type of marinade with other types of fish and veggies as well.

Amazingly Easy Irish Soda Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2013
I started my mixing in the Kitchen Aide and then kneaded for a while on a floured surface. I added about 1/2 cup raisins by kneading them into the dough. Recipe yielded one fairly large loaf, which I probably could have made into two if necessary. The recipe was very simple and cooked well for 45 minutes at 375. Mildly sweet, traditional tasting loaf -DELICIOUS!

Easy Pumpkin Muffins

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2012
I thought these were very good. The only change I made was to add a bit of water to the batter to make it a little easier to work with. It was very stiff which made mixing difficult. They were, however, a big hit with my family! (I made 6 extra large muffins instead of 12 regular ones)

Pumpkin Pancakes

Reviewed: Oct. 15, 2012
This was so good! The only problem I had was with the consistency of the batter. It was so thick that I felt the need to add just a little more milk to thin it out. Other than that, awesome recipe. My entire family, including my picky five year old loved these pancakes!

Mama D's Italian Bread

Reviewed: Jun. 17, 2012
I give this recipe 4 stars. The bread was very good, however, as others have stated, the directions could have been better! Having only made bread a few times without a bread machine, I was surprised at how long it actually took the dough to rise. Some additional information concerning times would have come in handy. I actually pared down the recipe to 12 servings which made one rather large loaf of bread. It was more than enough to serve with dinner for four adults and a child. Thirty minutes on a pizza stone in a 450 degree oven was perfect. I didn't have a spray bottle to mist with water, so I simply put a pyrex pan with some water on the lower rack to keep the oven moist. Overall, very good bread. I'd love to make another batch and use for sandwiches!

Caramel Apple Pork Chops

Reviewed: Oct. 17, 2010
I rate this recipe between 4.5 - 5 stars. Overall, however, it was awesome. I took two pork loins and sliced them lengthwise and then in half. This gave me 8 nice, flat, pieces of pork to pan fry. I would, however, recommend putting oil in the pan itself, especially if you're using a stainless pan as I did. I had a little bit of an initial sticking problem with the pork when I simply brushed the oil on. My pan was very hot, so I don't think this should have happened. For the second batch, I put a bit of oil in the pan and it worked like a charm. Kudos to the submitter, who recommended placing the tray in the over an 175 degrees. This kept everything warm until my apples were done. I'm going to have to try this "trick" more often. My husband and daughter loved this one!

Brooklyn Girl's Penne Arrabiata

Reviewed: Oct. 15, 2010
I can only really rate half of this recipe, since I only made the pasta portion! Just to note, I didn't have fresh basil, so I used dry. This came out excellent, with even my husband raving about how good it was. I also threw in black olive slices for a little something extra. I can't wait to make this dish with the chicken!

Frogmore Stew

Reviewed: Aug. 29, 2010
I made this stew for a party of eight at my home last night! Everybody raved about it. I was afraid at first about the cooking times, especially with the pototoes and corn, so I kept checking them for doneness after each step. Turned out the timings listed were perfect though! I used Chorizo as my sausage, which tasted fantastic. I'll definitely make this again. You really can't go wrong with this recipe!

The Best Rolled Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 4, 2009
These cookies were great! I made this recipe for the first time today to make Halloween cookies with my 2.5 year old. Needless to say, she loves them! The taste is just right, not overly sweet like some sugar cookies. I changed the recipe amounts to make 30 servings, instead of the standard 60. 6.5 minutes exactly did this trick @ 400 degrees! GREAT!

Slow Cooker Pulled Pork

Reviewed: Sep. 20, 2009
This recipe was very good. I cooked it for only 4 hours on high in the crockpot since I didn't have time to do the 7 hours recommended. Maybe it would have been better had I cooked it longer at a lower temp. Overall, it made a good sandwich and was EXTREMELY easy to make!

This bread pudding was very easy to throw together and delicious! What a great way to use old bread. I actually used a couple stale plain hamburger buns which worked great.
