Oven Roasted Teriyaki Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 31, 2013
This was great. I made the sauce the night before then marinated chicken and had my husband grill it. I also made a mistake and m is measured the vinegar, it was super easy to fix though. Both kids liked the chicken as well, husband requested that i make again. Only change i made was to use reg brown sugar not splenda. Will make again.

Grandma's Blueberry Pie

Reviewed: Feb. 28, 2013
this was a good pie it was just a little to sweet, the berries i had were very sweet though, next time i will taste then decide how much sugar. We ate it after it had cooled slightly, but i have to say it was way better the next day, it held up when cut (the next day not so much from the over as to be expected)i will make this again but with less sugar

Grands!® Biscuit Taco Cups

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2013
I made a few changes based on what i had on hand. It was good, my husband thought that i was a genius for making little cup. I did not have canned biscuits on hand so i quickly made some cheddar bis, after i cooked them i filled with refried beans, and shredded chicken taco meat, my husband and i both agree that they were good, but needed sou cream (for me), green onion, lettuce and tomatoe, i would toss and avocado on too, but then again i love avocados! I will make again. Both to kiddos loved them too.

Plain Cake Doughnuts

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2013
These were so good and so easy, my four year old helped make them. We served them dusted with powdered sugar, and some rolled in cinn sugar, we prefer the cinn/sugar. My husband and i agree that this would make a great treat in the fall when we go to either the pumpkin patch or the Christmas tree farm, served with hot apple cider as someone else suggested. I will make these again. The only negative thing that i can say is i think they needed a little bit more cinnamon and or nutmeg, and the dough was super sticky both easily fixed though.

Homey Chicken and Rice Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 15, 2012
So good. I made a few changes based on what i had on hand, first i used one small can of mushrooms and added some minced garlic,(cooked in butter not olive oil.) also i left out the cheese and croutons simply because i did not have any and i forgot to put in the season salt. My super pickey daughter loved it (after i picked out the big chuncks of mushrooms.) My husband also liked it, we both felt however that in need a little spice. (due to the season salt) We just added a little hot sauce to our portion and it was perfect. I don't think it needed the cheese or the crutons. I will making this again.

World's Best Peanut Butter Fudge

Reviewed: Dec. 15, 2012
I could not help it i tasted it as i was spreading it into the pan. SO yummie. This fudge really brought back some memories of my grandmother. Every year she made candies at christmas, and she made something like this. One taste and i was back in her kitchen standing at the counter with hopefull eyes. (Yep she always let me "sneak one") the only thing she did differently was she rolled hers into a ball and then dipped then in chocolate. I will make these again and again. Debby I am not sure if you will ever see this, but thank you so much for posting this, my grandma has been gone for close to 10 years now. But this recpie has brought back so many great memories that i had long ago forgotten. Thank you.

Aunt Teen's Creamy Chocolate Fudge

Reviewed: Dec. 15, 2012
So good and easy too my four year old "helped" me make this and it still turned out great. It set much faster then the recpie stated, but it could be because i did not have a 8x8 pan i used a 9x9. I think i prefcer the 9x9 thickness.

Chef's Steak Sauce

Reviewed: Nov. 4, 2012
I hate to be the one to break the streak, but i just made this and served it with my husbands birthday dinner. We both were agreed that it was good but that we liked the bottled stuff better. It was fun to make though but i do not think that i will be making again. Thanks for the most though.

Indiana-Style Corn Dogs

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2012
Just finished making these for a late lunch. I thought that they were ok. I was out of paprika and only had smoked paprika, it added just a subtle smoke flavor, it was almost like i was walking around the fair. I had problems cooking them, they were very dark before the batter was done in the middle. Also the only other problem i had was that the corn meal i used was so corse that some of the corn meal stayed hard, i have had this probplem before and tried to soak the corn meal in the milk for a few minutes but no luck. Maybe next time i can warm the milk and let the corn meal soften wile it cools The flavor of the recpie i do not think was affected by my mistakes though. i will make this again though as my 4 year old is really eating it. (Yeah, its been a long time since she ate all of something or any of something for that matter.)

Decadent Pumpkin Muffins

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2012
So i chose this recpie because i thought that i had everything in my pantry to make them. With the exception of vanilla yogert, but planned to use sour cream and vanilla instead. Well when i started making them i found that i was out of nearly every spice, and applecauce (apparently it does not last for ever!) Here is what i did to compensate, i used 1 and 1/2 tsp pumpkin pie spice, 1/4 c. (or less canolla oil for the apple sauce, and added 1 tsp to replace the vanilla flavor of the yogurt. the batter was a little runnie so i left out the water, I used fresh pumpkin instead of canned also. They turned out great, my 4 year old daughter loved them, so did my 9 month old son. Husband loved them and took the extras to work. (this recpie made about 18 for me) I did think that i could have put in a little more spice, but it sould just be that i used fresh pumpkin. I will make these again, as written after a trip to the grocery store!

Strawberry Swirl Cheesecake Bars

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2012
A few days ago this was a favorit photo, my dayghter saw it on the website and asked if we could make that. Never one to pass up the opportunity to bake with my 4 year old or say no to cheesecake i daid yes. It only took a few minutes to put together but it did take a little bit longer to bake then stated, but my oven is old and just seems to cook things slower. We ate some last night while it was still warm, and it was good, my husband only said the it needs a better crust, (i skimped on the butter, we were almost out.) This morning i had some for breakfast (what can i say i was fresh out of wheaties!) and it was even better then yesterday. Although this was not as rich and creamy as the cheesecake factory it was still a smooth sweet and tangy treat. I wil make this again, but this time i wont skimp on the crust.

Slow Cooker Carnitas

Reviewed: Oct. 14, 2012
Made this for dinner last night. Is was so good. I did have to make 2 changes only because of what i had on hand, first i used veg. broth instead of chicken, and i did not have any coriander so i just put in a little extra cumin, I sliced the meat thick and served with corn tortillas, avacados, fresh tomatoes, crema and mexican style cheese. Kids loved it too. I will make again, excited to try it with coriander.

Enchanted Sour Cream Chicken Enchiladas

Reviewed: Oct. 4, 2012
So when i read this recpie i thought it sounded good but that it might be a little bland. I read reviews, and it seems that others agreed that it was a little bland and tasteless. So i fallowed the reviews of others and added garlic and onion powder, I also added a small can of olives. yet it was still tasteless and bland. The only thing that saved this meal was that we were having a salad with litehouse blue cheese dressing, my husband and i smothered the enchalada in the blue cheese dressing. If i make these again i may just put some dressing in the sour cream mixture. My hubbie and i did agree that the corn tortillas were supper yummie cooked in the oven with out the enchalada sauce to drown it. I will deffinatly use this mothod of cooking, however i will fill it with something with a little more flavor.

Easy Chicken Enchiladas

Reviewed: Oct. 4, 2012
I have been making enchaladas simmalar to these for years now, they are always a big hit with my husband, and now our kids. I use corn tortillas and flour, depending on what i have on hand, i also use pace salsa and leave out the beans sometimes. I also pour a can of enchalada sauce over them and then the cheese. I have also used this as a chip dip. And i have used it as a layer in a mexican style lasagna. (just start by layering meat sauce, refried beans and corn, then a corn tortilla.) TIP: if you are having trouble rolling the corn tortillas, place them in a plastic sandwich bag and seal lightly, put in the mircowave for 30 seconds this heats them enough to make them plyable and should not rip. Or you can put them a skillet of hot oil and lightly fry them on each side for 10 seconds. I will make this again.

Buttermilk Pancakes II

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2012
So yummie, melt in your mouth good. I almost did not need to chew. Pickey 4 year old ate all of her large pancake.(says alot since she normally will not eat pancakes.) Made exactly as written, except reduced recpie to half. Some of the reviewers complained that it was to sweet. I did not think it was sweet of all. But then again i am the kind of person who loves sweets. If you are not maybe just use a little less sugar. I will make again, but i don't think i will replace my other pancake recpie.

Hamburger Buns

Reviewed: Sep. 18, 2012
My husband loved this. I thought that they were good too, but I thougt that they were more like a dinner roll, then a hamburger bun. I thought that it would take much longer for them to raise butit did only take about 20-30 min, i had preheated my oven to 200 (lowest it would go), i had also places a 13x9 baking dish on the bottom rack then placed my rolls on the top rack and closed the door, The last 5 mins or so of baking brushe with more butter and sprinkled some parm cheese on top. So good. i was out of garlic salt so i could not use that. but i wll nest time. I will probably make this again.
