About this Cook
Married to my best friend and SAHM to my two beautiful kids (2 and 6 months).
My favorite things to cook
I love baking anything. Pies and cakes are probably what I'm best at, but bread is my first love. I like cooking soups and stews, and love my slow cooker.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Christmas baking with my Mom and Grandma, and making breakfast on Easter with my Step-Dad.
My cooking triumphs
My first attempt at a White chocolate Raspberry Cheesecake. I made it for the party the neighbors were having, and it turned out awesome! Of course, now I get to make desserts for every get together, but I'm ok with that!
My cooking tragedies
The very first family meal I made at age 11. I made a seafood pasta dish with fresh bread and salad. My parents ate it, but I couldn't figure out what it was lacking. (Garlic, which has become one of my favorite things to add to dishes!)

Colcannon Bake
Turned out very good, with a nice flavor. I used 5 large potatoes (Costco size), and also put 5 crushed garlic cloves in with the potatoes. Next time I think I will add some bacon.

Amazingly Easy Irish Soda Bread
Very easy, good recipe. I used slightly more buttermilk than was called for, but it was a dry day here. Came out beautiful. Nice crust, inside was moist. Good flavor all around. When you make the 'X' in the crust, lightly score it - making a deep cut will have it pull very far apart as it's baking.
