Bread Pudding Apple Pie

Reviewed: May 6, 2010
No need to put into a pie shell. It's just as good without and reduces the fat/calories.

Buttery Soft Pretzels

Reviewed: Jun. 27, 2010
12/12/2010 - I made these this morning, and they are already almost gone. Pretty sad that four of us have eaten 10 pretzels already, but they are so good. These are buttery, sweet, and so soft. My husband has already requested another batch of these. Your house will smell like you are in a mall walking past one of those pretzel shops. Definitely a must try recipe! I am rating this because of the low rating before this. It is NOT too much baking soda. Boiling the pretzels in the water with baking soda gives it the crust that it needs. I have done this many times with pretzels, bagels, and pretzel bread. Try the recipe (or at least read it all the way) before giving a negative rating. So sad!

Cowboy Cookie Mix in a Jar

Reviewed: May 25, 2010
I didn't make these in a jar, just mixed them like a regular cokie recipe. They are wonderful. I made a mini chocolate chip, pecan, raisin combination cookie that tastes awesome. A little chewy from the raisins, a little crunchy with the pecans and oats, and gooey with the chocolate. Everything you want in a cookie - Great Recipe!! Next time I am thinking of a milk chocolate, white chocolate, walnut combination - YUM!

Sam's Famous Carrot Cake

Reviewed: May 25, 2010
Took this cake to work and everyone loved it. I like the fact that it doesn't have cups of oil in it, and I actually used a little applesauce and reduced the oil even further. It still turned out moist and delicious. I love the addition of the coconut and raisins. They just put this cake over the top. Fantastic recipe!

Frosted Banana Bars

Reviewed: May 23, 2010
Great, easy way to use up over-ripe bananas. I made the bar part as written, but used a homemade cream cheese frosting recipe. I am taking these to work tomorrow, and I am sure they will be a big hit!

Black Magic Cake

Reviewed: May 19, 2010
I acutally made this cake for the Chocolate Hazelnut Cake recipe on this site instead of using the box mix that was called for. I orginally made 2 layers to put a filling in between and then frost. I could not get the filling to set up and went ahead and put it on the cake anyway. It all ended up in the garbage as a big soupy mess. But, before I threw it out, I tasted the cake. Marvelous. Probably the best chocolate cake I have ever had. And I was actually hesitant because of the amount of coffee used - I am not a coffee drinker. I made the cake as written except for using 1/4 cup oil and 1/4 cup applesauce. It was moist, flavorful, and I ended up making another one in a 9X13 pan that I will put a chocolate ganache on in the morning to take to work.

Aunt Teen's Creamy Chocolate Fudge

Reviewed: May 18, 2010
Awesome - this is my most frequently used fudge recipe. I love the combination of the milk and semi-sweet chocolate. I always use a candy thermometer when making fudge, so it always turns out the correct consistency.

Applesauce Bars

Reviewed: May 17, 2010
Love these! I like the fact that they don't have much butter and they are still moist and have great flavor. I have left these plain, frosted with brown butter frosting as well as using cream cheese frosting. They always taste great!

White Chocolate Macadamia Nut Cookies IV

Reviewed: Jul. 1, 2010
When my 16 year-old daughter came downstairs today and saw the bag of macadamia nuts on the counter, she said this was one of her favorite days. These are her favorite kind of cookies, but I have never made them before because of the expense of the nuts. I found some on sale, so she finally got her cookies. Personally, I think that they spread a little too much and turned out kind of thin. Next time, I will probably chill the dough a little before baking. But, the fact that my daughter loved them so much and the only reason that she didn't eat them all was because I took them away, is enough for me to give them a 5 star rating.

Cherry Pie III

Reviewed: May 17, 2010
This is my go-to cherry pie recipe. I don't always make the crust, but this filling can't be beat. It always turns out with the best taste and consistency. I also make the filling by itself to use on mini cheesecakes or on top of ice cream. It is just awesome!

Lemon Cake

Reviewed: May 7, 2010
I love the soft texture of this cake. I use this as a base recipe for all other boxed cake mixes. I use the water, eggs or egg whites and the cake mix. I like this better than using the traditional ingredients. I make this cake all of the time, but have only made the frosting one time. I usually just make my homemade vanilla frosting and add some lemon extract to it. Great cake!

No Bake Cookies V

Reviewed: May 7, 2010
My husband's favorite cookie. These are easy to make and take almost no time to make. The hardest part is waiting for them to cool down and set up. My husband has been known to eat this straight from the pot.

Light Oat Bread

Love, love, love this bread. It is so easy to make in the bread machine. It cuts beautifully and tastes amazing! It is wonderful with a bowl of hot soup, or just with butter and honey.

Applesauce Oatie Cookies

Reviewed: May 7, 2010
Love this recipe because it only uses 1/2 cup butter unlike the usual 1 cup. It also combines my two favorite cookies, oatmeal raisin and chocolate chip. My husband and I ate almost the entire batch the evening that I made them.

Coconut Cranberry Bars

Reviewed: May 6, 2010
The school that I work at has red and white as their school colors, and every Friday is red/white day. I made this and they were gone by lunch. I did use fat free condensed milk because that is what I usually have, and they still turned out wonderful. Next time I will line the pan, as they did stick a little.

Turkey and Quinoa Meatloaf

Reviewed: May 6, 2010
My kids said this was better than the beefy meatloaf that I usually make. I am new to using quinoa, so I love finding new recipes to try it in. This one was a definite keeper in my household. I didn't alter the recipe, and it was easy and tasty.

Blueberry Zucchini Bread

Reviewed: May 17, 2010
I love this bread. I was a bit skeptical of the blueberry/zucchini flavor combination, but it is wonderful. I do cut the oil in half and use applesauce. I also bake all of my quick breads in mini-loaf pans so they cook evenly and it is also nice to be able to keep a few and give a few away. This makes about 5-6 mini loaves. Wonderful!

Kelli's Fried Green Zucchini

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2012
Boy was this good. I love fried zucchini and only make it once a year. I did not use the mozzarella cheese at the end, but the zucchini was still delicious. Having the oil at the right temperature is important in this recipe...too hot, and it will burn quickly, not hot enough and the zucchini just sits and soaks up oil. I used more oil and kept it at 350-375 degrees, frying just a few pieces at a time. Can't wait for next year's zucchini crop to do this one again.

White Chocolate and Cranberry Cookies

Reviewed: Jul. 6, 2010
Great tasting cookie. I threw in a handful of mini chocolate chips just for another added flavor, and they were wonderful. I used vanilla instead of the brandy (because I don't have brandy). Great alternative to your typical chocolate chip cookie - love the chewiness that the cranberries add.
