Fluffy Peanut Butter Frosting

Reviewed: May 2, 2013
I tried making this with Adam's Natural Peanut butter and it was a disaster! At first everything looked like it was going well...until I beat it for three minutes and ended up with a gooey, slimy frosting (that still tastes like peanut butter and sugar at least). Perhaps I'll try skipping the final beating step if I ever try this recipe again.

Whole Grain Pancakes

Delicious! I added a dash of vanilla and about 1/3 cup of additional whole wheat flour to thicken up the batter as other reviews recommended and it turned they turned out beautifully :).

Ruth's Grandma's Pie Crust

Reviewed: Aug. 17, 2010
YUM!! Flacky, tender, though crisp. Light sweet flavor, easy to work with. Fabulous! I was making a double batch and went ahead and upped to servings to 40 because of the other reviews mentioning lack of dough. I wound up with enough leftover dough to make a little tart for sampling (yummy, but it means the original amount would have been sufficient for my 9inch pies top and bottom). I used one stick of butter and the rest crisco in my double batch, and the result was spectacular. (For the recipe as it reads on this page, sub in 1/4 cup butter, or 1/2 stick). Enjoy!

Peach-a-Berry Pie

Reviewed: Aug. 17, 2010
I followed someones recommendation to use part cornstarch (I did a little under 1tbs) mashed up with 1/3 of the blackberries (in season right now) and then used flour mixed in with the peaches and other blackberries for the remaining 2tbs. *Helpful Hint* To remove the skin from peaches try blanching them; 30-45 seconds in boiling hot water taken off the heat followed by 15 seconds in an ice bath (to keep the peach from continuing to cook). The skin slipped right off into my fingers :). I made this with "Ruth's Grandma's Pie Crust" and the shortbready like flavor was a perfect complement to this recipe. I'm submitting the two pies I made into a contest tomorrow, wish me luck :)
