First advice: watch the video! I've never layered my noodles like they suggest, but am glad I tried something new. By overlapping 6 noodles lenghtwise, it seems to cut better and hold up better, presentation wise. I ended up simmering the sauce for about 3 hours. No italian seasoning, so I used some oregano, rosemary and marjoram(I did reduce the sugar and salt by half) Didn't have tomato sauce, so I substituted a can of crushed tomatoes and omitted the water. I also had leftover sauce, but had made some extra noodles, so used that to do lasagne roll ups!
This is my new GO TO sauce, the sweet sausage makes all the difference, THANK YOU!
