Well, we like sushi - the boring stuff mostly.  California rolls are my fav!  We have gone to Blue, an awesome sushi restaurant.  Ate salmon, and some other stuff I can't recall LOL. Well watching the Cooking Chanel the other day one of the shows went over making your own sushi… MORE

About this Cook
I started cooking at a very young age. I loved to help my mom in the kitchen and learned the basics pretty early. I love to cook and learn new techniques.
My favorite things to cook
I enjoy all types of food, but I love to grill in the summertime. I am always looking for something creative!
My favorite family cooking traditions
During Thanksgiving and Christmas we always have lefsa, a Swedish flatbread made with potatoes. It's a long time tradition and is the first thing everyone looks for snacking on when they walk through the door!
My cooking triumphs
I remember my first lemon meringue pie... I was so nervous it would burn or wouldn't taste good and it was PERFECT!

Wine Fondue
Pretty good! We dipped asparagus, mushrooms and shrimp (pre-cooked) Will definitely make again and again, thank you!

Chicken Shepherd's Pie
Great recipe, I did add some changes too! I did not do the roasted garlic. I cooked my chicken in a pan with some water to keep it moist; meanwhile I chopped 1/2 onion, 1/2 bell pepper and 4 strips of bacon. Sauteed together until onion softened. added some chopped garlic. Chopped my chicken with my food chopper then added 1 can chopped tomatoes and the spices ( I added oregano too) Let that simmer while finishing potatoes. I added about 1/2 c cheese to my mix, topped with potatoes, baked about 20 min, then topped with more cheese and broiled. YUM!

Wisconsin Native's Beer Cheese Soup
I have made this recipe three times now. I did mix the cheese up, sharp cheddar, swiss & monteray jack. I don't keep dry mustard, so we use spicy brown only, not the dijon+dry. The first time I made this it seemed to chunky. I take my hand/stick blender and blend the veggie mix once it is cooked, almost to a puree. A nice dark beer is perfect, we use Smithwicks. We like to serve this with beer bread! Thanks for the great recipe!! It is a keeper.
