Slow Cooker Cheese Steaks

Reviewed: Jul. 15, 2012
This is my recipe and seasoning the meat kind of goes without saying for me - sorry I left it out of the recipe to salt and pepper it. I guess it is just something I do naturally. With all slow cooker recipes where you are using meat - to get the most flavor sear the meat first on the stove. I do this for this recipe when I have more time, but it still works and is flavorful without searing. Be careful with the salt as the stock will be salty too, but do season with salt for more depth of flavor.

Sweet Restaurant Slaw

Reviewed: Mar. 9, 2012
Wonderful!! Made it exactly as stated and everyone loves it. There is only one problem....you can't eat any other coleslaw after having this HA!!! It is that good!!! Thanks so much for sharing! UPDATE: I made this again with the slow cooker barbecue ribs from this site, and this sweet slaw recipe is still the best we've ever had! Thanks again!!

French Baguettes

Reviewed: Mar. 9, 2012
Wow - really good!! I didn't use a bread maker. I just dumped the water, flour, sugar, salt, and yeast in a mixing bowl. I did make sure the yeast got in the water, and I let it sit for about 10 mins. Then I mixed all together by hand to make the dough. I then turned it onto a floured surface and kneaded until no longer sticky. Followed the recipe exactly including the egg yolk wash. The texture is wonderful. I like soft bread, so this was perfect!! It didn't last long, but there was a piece left the 2nd day and it tasted like a croissant and was almost as light and airy!! Thank you so much for sharing. I never got bread right until now!! Will be making this often!!

al fresco Roasted Pepper and Asiago Chicken Sausage Frittata

Reviewed: Apr. 15, 2012
Very easy and tasty! I was not able to find the Roasted Pepper Asiago Chicken Sausage, so I used the Al Fresco Sundried Tomato Chicken Sausage. I think when I made it again I will only use 1/2 the package of sausage. That would be plenty for us! Thanks for the recipe!

Sweet Italian Chicken Sausage and Tortellini Soup

Reviewed: Apr. 18, 2012
We loved this recipe! Thank you Al Fresco! I did have to make some changes though. I didn't feel like there was enough broth for the amount of noodles, so I chose to double the broth (I used chicken base and water as I didn't have any homemade broth on hand). I used Sake for the wine as that is what I had open, and I have to say it was very nice! The flavor of the broth was so good!

Tropical Pork Chops

Reviewed: May 12, 2012
Thank you for sharing this wonderful recipe! My husband and I really enjoyed it. I was sure to caramelize the chops really well before I added the sauce. I replaced the water with the pineapple juice from the canned tidbits. I checked for doneness after 10 minutes of simmering, and my chops were ready to eat! I was so happy to, because they were smelling yummy! I served over rice. Next time I will use fresh pineapple!

Balsamic Chicken and Fresh Mozzarella

Reviewed: Jul. 18, 2013
Thank you for a wonderful recipe! I made Mama's Balsamic Vinaigrette from this site for the marinade (deelish), and used roma tomatoes. I only marinated for about 5 hours, so I baked the chicken in the marinade at 350 degrees F until temp reached 150 degrees (about 40 mins for thick breasts). Then I covered the dish with foil and let rest for 10 minutes. I followed the rest of the recipe topping with fresh mozzarella, fresh basil, and roma tomatoes and served. The cheese melted slightly from the heat of the chicken and it was perfect! Very refreshing and full of flavor! Next time I will plan ahead and marinate the full time and then cook as directed! Thanks again for a wonderful dish!

Roasted Vegetable Orzo

Reviewed: Jun. 25, 2012
Really loved this recipe. Thank you for sharing! I made it without the asparagus simply because it wasn't on sale, but the dish was still so good. I also didn't want to throw wine down the drain, so I adjusted the cooking method for the orzo. I lightly toasted 1 cup of orzo in 2 tablespoons of butter and then added 1 1/4 cups water with a 1 teaspoon of chicken base and a 1/2 cup Sake. I brought that to a boil. Covered. Reduced the heat and let simmer for 15-20 mins until the liquid was absorbed. Then i added in the veges and the Parmesan. It was delish! I will be making it again and again and can't wait for asparagus to go on sale!

Wonderful! Thank you for this delicious recipe! I love it has zucchini in it! I halved the recipe and broiled it get some browning on it after cooking, but other than that I made it exactly as stated in the recipe. This is a keeper! Thanks again!

Madison's Angel Food Cake French Toast

Reviewed: Jun. 30, 2012
This is my daughter's recipe. She uses a 13x9x2" cake pan to make the cake, but the 10" tube pan will work fine. Anything smaller the cake will overflow - so be careful. You can also buy a pre-made angel food cake for this. We haven't tried that yet because we are afraid it might make it too sweet.

Lemon Ginger Shrimp

Reviewed: Jul. 19, 2013
Thank you for a delicious recipe. I only made 1 pound of shrimp (that was a mistake!) I kept the marinade the same. I grilled these in my grill pan and they turned out great! I used some of the reserved marinade to season some rice and summer veges. It was a wonderful meal. I look forward to making it again! Thanks for sharing!

Apple Crisp II

Reviewed: Jul. 13, 2012
Delish! Thanks for sharing. This was really easy, and I had everything on hand. I had some apples I really need to use up and this was perfect. I halved the recipe because there are just 3 of us, but it disappeared right away. So it looks like I'll be making it again!

Meatball Sub Casserole

Reviewed: Sep. 30, 2013
This is a great idea! Thanks! I added more flavor by making homemade meatballs and sauce and I mixed up some mozzarella cheese with some garlic herb spread and spread that on the bread (I used a baguette from the bakery-not the frozen bread). Baked it until the cheese was bubbly and then I topped that with the meatballs and the sauce and some more mozzarella along with a little bit of italian bread crumbs and then baked until the cheese melted. It was really quick, easy and delicious! Thanks!

Out of this World Pasta Salad

Reviewed: Sep. 3, 2011
Very easy and delish! I diced the veggies very small instead of making the fun shapes, and I wasn't able to find the "alien veggie", but regular broccoli works well in this salad. Thanks Hidden Valley Ranch! Just want to add that this salad is even better the next day!! I will definitely make this up a day ahead next time!
