About this Cook
I am a wife and mother of 1 in my 40's. My husband and I have been married for over 20 years and our daughter is getting ready to head off to college in the fall.
My favorite things to cook
I enjoy using fresh and flavorful ingredients to prepare meals for and with my family. We even try out new slowcooker recipes in our hotel room while away from home, because we have become very picky when dining out. I am not a very educated cook, so I do rely on recipes much of the time (thank goodness for Allrecipes!). Sometimes I will tweak a recipe to our liking, but I have just recently started experimenting with flavors to make signature recipes, however this is something very new to me.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My daughter loves to bake and we enjoy creating new things together in the kitchen.
My cooking tragedies
It is a running joke in my household to expect burned rolls on a holiday haha

Tropical Pork Chops
Thank you for sharing this wonderful recipe! My husband and I really enjoyed it. I was sure to caramelize the chops really well before I added the sauce. I replaced the water with the pineapple juice from the canned tidbits. I checked for doneness after 10 minutes of simmering, and my chops were ready to eat! I was so happy to, because they were smelling yummy! I served over rice. Next time I will use fresh pineapple!

Pico De Gallo
Easy and very tasty! I did add lime and used fresh garlic. Thanks for sharing!

Eggs Benedict
This wasn't to our liking. Too much lemon. I added some sugar to counteract the lemon - it definitely helped, but I would recommend you significantly reduce the lemon in this recipe. You can always add more if needed. I would start with 1 tablespoon. You don't need to do this in a double broiler either - just do it on low and stir constantly.
