Slow Cooker Beef Stew I

Reviewed: Dec. 11, 2013
Delicious as written. I DID make more gravy by pulling some broth out of the crock pot and putting it in a pan with the remaining beef broth from the carton along with some flour. Other than that, it was perfectly fine just as written. Thanks! Perfect for a snowy day!

Easy Homemade Pie Crust

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2013
Ridiculously easy and stunningly delicious. Followed the directions exactly and the results were phenomenal! Made two batches - used three for pies and then used the last crust on a turkey pot pie made with Thanksgiving leftovers. I will never use a store-bought pie crust again!

Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Jun. 13, 2013
Made this with just a few revisions - doubled the recipe, added one large carrot, diced, and used fat-free Lactaid because that's all I had on-hand. Stunningly delish!!!

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2011
Delicious! Had friends for dinner, making us 8, so made two crock pots - one with bone-in, skinless thighs and one with boneless, skinless breasts. Followed other reviewer's advice and four hours in I rolled the biscuits and cut into strips, placed the in the crock pot, spiced them, lid back on and cooked for two more hours. There were NO leftovers!!! Next time, I will use pearl onions and chunks of carrot...and might even make the "dumplings" more of a lattice pie crust. Soo good! Thanks Janiece!

Slow Cooker Oats

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2011
I followed the recipe exactly and unfortunately, the slow cooker I used is a manual one, and it didn't switch over to warm. There was some heavy sticking to the bottom of the crock (I wouldn't call it burned). additionally, there was way too much water for my taste (and I used McCann's steel cut oats), and the cinnamon was a little strong. The taste was good, however, once I got past the cinnamon. So, next time I make it, I'll use 3 cups of water, half the cinnamon, and I'll use my other crock pot, which switches to warm after the cook time has been reached. Thanks for the recipe brandysue, it smelled wonderful this morning!

Pumpkin Crisp with Pecans

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2011
This is absolutely delicious. I add a cup of chopped pecans to the topping to crunch it up a little bit - and this is typically gone BEFORE the pumpkin pie. So much easier - and really just scrumptious! Thank you Bunny for posting such a wonderful recipe - it helps round out my desserts during the holidays every year.

Shrimp Francesca

Reviewed: Aug. 10, 2011
Delicious, but my family felt there were too many breadcrumbs. Might switch to italian Panko - the bread crumbs I used were too fine. Taste, however, was DELISH. Thanks Francesca for posting!

Burgundy Pork Tenderloin

Reviewed: Feb. 19, 2010
Delicious. Quick, painless - almost out of wine, so 1 cup wine, 1 cup veg broth - soooo yummy! Next tim I might throw some sliced garlic in with the onions and celery but really, perfect just the way it's given! Thanks for this keeper!

Black Bean Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 28, 2009
Took this to our annual block party and it was absolutely fantastic - and gone very quickly. A few changes - although I love avocado, I omitted it b/c not everyone does, and I omitted the pimentos for the same reason. Added cumin & freshly ground pepper, and used grape tomatoes, quartered, in place of regular tomatoes as they're not quite in season here yet. Used Ken's Light Northern Italian w/Basil & Romano. I will be making this again and again and again!

Baked Ziti IV

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2009
Our family has become known for this ziti recipe - we are always asked to bring it and take it every year to the outer banks for vacation. I am always asked for the recipe and am more than happy to point them to this site. I've made various changes over the years but regardless of what I do, it's always delicious! This is most definitely THE BEST Baked Ziti recipe - HANDS DOWN. Yummmmmmmmmm!

Best Italian Sausage Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 25, 2009
This soup was delicious. I made a mistake and purchased link sausage (one big long link) so sliced it after cooking it, didn't have any green pepper so omitted that, didn't have any whole tomatoes so used sliced stewed tomatoes (which based on other reviews might be a good thing as whole tomatoes would be too big if they didn't break down...) - used cheese filled tortellini for the pasta and just threw it in about an hour before dinner - absolutely DELICIOUS with crusty bread and a salad. Thanks for a great recipe!!!

Apple Walnut Salad with Cranberry Vinaigrette

Reviewed: Sep. 12, 2008
I made this last night for my Junior Woman's Club and it was gone gone gone! A few changes - I used Craisins because that is what I had on-hand, I added some cranberry juice (concentrate, from trader joe's) and, following the advice of some other reviewers, I chopped the red onions and tossed them with the salad rather than adding them to the vinaigrette. Delicious!!!
