I was just going over all the wonderful recipes in my recipe box. I ran across a tried and true eggs benedict recipe I found last November. My boyfriend's birthday is in November and I took him out to a fancy breakfast to celebrate. His all time favorite breakfast is eggs benedict with lox… MORE

About this Cook
My name is Mollie. I'm 23 and currently living in Austin, Texas. I learned to cook when I was very young, helping my mother in the kitchen. I've always loved the feeling of pride and accomplishment after making a delicious meal or treat and sharing it with my friends and family.
My favorite things to cook
I love cooking pasta dishes! I have so much fun mixing flavors and trying out new ingredients in classic dishes. I also love cooking pastries and I'm currently learning how to make home-made mozzarella!
My favorite family cooking traditions
I have a huge extended family (59 aunts, uncles, and cousins!) and we all get together for Christmas eve at my grandparents house. Since there are so many of us, we all pitch in and bring an appetizer or treat to share. I love being in the kitchen with my family, all of us working on different dishes, sharing stories, listening to music, laughing and joking. The food always tastes better when we have fun making it together!
My cooking triumphs
I think my biggest cooking triumph was making cream puffs for the first time. I was still in high school when I found a recipe for cream puffs and was so excited about the idea of making them myself. The recipe called for techniques that I had never done before; using a double boiler, adding one egg at a time to the dough, I thought it sounded more like a chemistry experiment than a recipe! My kitchen was a disaster by the time I finished, but those cream puffs were perfect! Just the right size, fluffy and airy, and the custard filling was fantastic! After making those cream puffs, I felt like I could do anything!
My cooking tragedies
I once burnt a pot of soup...

Lemon Honey Butter Tarts
I really like how these turned out. I did make one change by using filo cups instead of normal tarts. I just couldn't find tart shells at my grocery store. The filling is excellent. It was sweeter than I expected and I might add extra lemon next time. I really love sour lemons though, so if I make these for a party I'll keep the recipe as is.

Crabmeat Rollups
Easy, fast, and freezes well. What more do you need in an appetizer? This is a great recipe to make on a boring day and then freeze until you need them. I think they'd even make a good kid's snack. Just don't tell them there's crab in it until after they've eaten the whole plate!

Grilled Sweet Italian Chicken Sausage with Tomato Cream Sauce Over Linguine
I really liked this sauce! I usually do white or red sauce, and the combination of the two was refreshing and easy to make. I ended up using spiral noodles, because I already had them on hand. I will definitely make this again.
