About this Cook
I'm an active mom of 4 and married the love of my life. I'm a full~time certified care giver, part~time food blogger @ http://the7upexperience.com , avid & obsessed novice photographer. I love allrecipes and pretty much an addict. I'm also a new member to Banana Belt Photography Club that's local to my community, and an Allrecipes Allstar Brand Ambassador. And have stamped allrecipes on me for life. The site has opened up my eyes to so much more then just recipes. I'm proud to be a member of this site and my love, passion & learning other recipes from other valued members has really broaden my horizens.
My favorite things to cook
Asian, Mexican, Multi-cultured foods, Low-fat, Low-sugar, Stews, casseroles, slow cooker meals and baking......Everything!!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Funny but true: Cooking traditions men sit in the recliner and women in the kitchen...lol My family is always in the kitchen. My sister and her family, my parents and my family celebrate Christmas in January. Due to distance and work related jobs. Every year we plan what we are having ahead of time. Our tradition is usually food we've had abroad growing up overseas. Normally with Asia influences. It's always a special treat when we normally don't make the dishes often throughout the year.
My cooking triumphs
Unknown to me when I came up with a chicken and dumpling recipe of my own, my father was floored & delighted and told me it tasted just like his mother's.......My mom dropped her jaw because it was better then her's. It's a staple with my husband and kids.
My cooking tragedies
I had found a recipe for a Pretzel Pie(like Pecan Pie), thought it looked good and I didn't follow the recipe when it said unsalted pretzels. I just grabbed the normal stuff with the salt on it, made the pie, and my dad and husband were painting with thrist. And making weird pickle sour expressions, when I realized the pie was over salted. Oopppss! I never made it again.

Awesome Egg Rolls
my sweet little moonkid wanted eggrolls and this was the recipe she picked. I helped along the way to show her how easy it was to put things together from start to finish. The recipe is very versatile. We normally don't carry can shrimp on hand (because of personal preferences) so used ground chicken and made sure IT was well seasoned and cooked prior to mixing all the ingredients together and we used 2 bags of cabbage/carrot mix to equal the amount of cabbage, carrot and celery written in this recipe. From start to finish rather easy. The wetness to the recipe was very good. As you do NOT want overly wet filling in an eggroll recipe, will make your wrappers extremely weak and will cause the wrappers tear and burst in the frying process. As someone that has made lumpia and eggrolls most of my life, this is a simple recipe for those beginners wanting to make them on their own.

Caroline's Firecrackers
Who says that Flamin' Hot Cheetos(R) don't pair well with white chocolate?! Certainly not me. Because man are these good. And what a pretty color of pink that the Cheetos(R) give the almond bark. Addictively sweet and spicy, the sweetness hits 1st and then POW! You get nailed with an explosive ending. Will make again because my kiddos totally like them. These are simple, quick and down right a crazy combination that will be a "repeat offender" in my house! TY

No Bake Cookies VII
I'm only rating this as I've eaten this recipe that my moonkid has made a few times...okay, so several times LOL! I've watched how easy and simple this is to make even for a teenager. We like this a lot. What I've encouraged her to do verses trying to roll them, is to grab one of the small cookie dough ballers and use it in place of her hands. It's simple and effective and there is no need junking up your fingers and everything else. That's my advice. All the dough balls are inform and very pretty on a plate as well as tasty in the tummy. With or with out chocolate chips is still great and even when she used crunchy peanut butter too. It's also quite quick recipe. TY
