My favorite things to cook
Fish and seafood are my favorite things to cook. My husband is more of a meat person so that's a big part of my cooking too. Both of my daughters, as well as myself, are very conscious of our calories and fat grams. So healthy cooking/eating is a must for us. Even though we do splurge for a great dessert every so often.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Summer time is a huge entertaining time for our family. So other than the normal holidays I'd say the outdoor grill arena is a big cooking and celebrating time for us.
My cooking triumphs
The first time I brined a turkey that came out like a pro was a big triumph for me. I was so worried about it not being edible that I had a huge ham just in case!
My cooking tragedies
MANY and I mean MANY years ago when I was first married my in-laws came to our house for a New Years Day dinner. I made black eyed peas that ended up like paste. Obviously overcooked them! Also the first fried egg I ever tried cooking was so undercooked that my sister-in-law, in a very nice way, said "let me help you with that" and she cooked another one for my husband.

Kyle's Favorite Beef Stew
This is a great beef stew. After about 5 hours in the crock pot (you need a really nice sized crock pot because it makes alot) I tasted it for flavoring...decided it needed a little something added. So, I added a can of Rotel tomatoes, can of beef consomme', a nice dash of garlic salt, about 1/4 cup of ketchup and THEN it all came together. Served it to company and they all loved it on a nice chilly night.

Banana Crumb Muffins
This was a melt in your mouth recipe! Served it to 5 very picky eaters and they were literally trying to find crumbs to not waste a drop! Moist, flavorful, and OHHHHHHH so good!

Summerly Squash
A great and healthy way to use up those batches of summer veggies. I used a small can of Rotel tomatoes including the liquid instead of fresh tomatoes. The only other change I made was at the very end of cooking I put about 1/4 cup of parmesan cheese on top - melted that and served.
