About this Cook
I’ll be 66 years old, soon; Married for 44 years; (Been very fortunate that my wife and my girlfriend both live with me- in the same body); largely self-sufficient life; a married son; a married daughter; three granddaughters; three grand-dogs; a grand-snake; In January 2011, I’ll become officially retired. My current status is unemployed. I lost my job on July 3 of 2010; Christian religious belief but do not subscribe to any denomination; I’m a sentimental fool; do all of our home repairs; enjoy photography; wood working; rock collecting; metal working (actually, I would like to call it fire working because the fire is what I like to work with. Metal just happens to be the medium- seems to work better than wood or canvas.)I am fortunate to have a small workshop to do the woodworking and metalworking. No. IT IS NOT A MAN CAVE. It is just a place for the neighborhood guys to come when their wives have something for them to do.
My favorite things to cook
Soups. How can I go wrong? They are a great way to use up leftovers and those veggies that are approaching the end of their usefulness. They are always an original recipe.

If creating impulsive menus and recipes is a tradition then, (I guess) we have a tradition.

Ohhh! Too many. I have been able to throw them out and have something new before my wife gets home. Most of the time, anyway.

Sauerkraut Pork Supper
I made this exactly as written. At the end of cook time, I tasted the veggies and was surprised at the outstanding flavor. I think I'll leave out the loin next time and use some sausage. Or, just make the veggies as a soup. Thank you, Caarol, for this winner!

King Prawn and Scallop in Ginger Butter
This makes an excellent sauce to compliment any seafood. I served this in a salad bowl over thin spaghetti and ladeled the broth over all of it. Thank you for excellence!

Traci's Adobo Seasoning
Thank you, Traci! I used this on some fajitas tonight, and it achieved the level of flavor I was hoping for. I used it on a Denver Omlet, Sunday and it was great there, too! You have a true winner!
