I'm a grandma of five going on six. I've been a Real Estate Agent, long term care ombudsman, tax preparer, computer programer and computer teacher. I love to sew, cook, read, eat and create websites.
While my children were young I took cooking classes at the local Asian grocery store. They were so much fun. Now I take classes at my local kitchen store, usually from local chef's.
My favorite things to cook
My very favorites are Japanese, Chinese, Thai and then soups. Although I've married an Italian so I make, everything else as well. Meat and potatoes and pasta's of all sorts.
My favorite family cooking traditions
The big hit in our family is Taco night, everyone hoovers around the kitchen eating as the shells are being fried up. So much so that I had to video how to make them and put it on YouTube for the old grand kids to be able to make them at home. Search cybermema
We also have prime rib for the holiday meals that hubby prepares, yum. All of the grand kids like to help cook so we often make soup together. Gives them the opportunity to put in lot's of ingredients, and do a bunch of stirring.
My cooking triumphs
I think the best thing I've ever made was a crown roast of pork with fruited rice stuffing, yummy. I also make a killer minestrone soup.
My cooking tragedies
Ha, love this one, where to start. Once I tried to make braised short ribs, ugh, they were just so awful, so greasy and nasty that I've never even tried to eat them again. My hubby and I were only married a few months and he bravely choked them down. What a guy!
