Banana Banana Bread

I think a little more sugar would be better. Took way longer than 65 minutes. Dark on outside and near raw. Husband & kids like it fine.

Beef Stroganoff III

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2011
Fresh sliced mushrooms because canned are horrible. This was kind of bland in my opinion. Just seems to missing something. Might be that little sour bite but even after adding more sour cream I didn't get that taste I wanted. Thanks for submitting and I will try again and add something to get that bite that is missing. I might try the rice you suggest for something different.

Chantal's New York Cheesecake

Reviewed: Dec. 18, 2011
I like it but it's missing something. I may incorporate heavy cream, drop of lemon & orange oil for a hint of citrus. It is missing the creamy texture so I would suggest replacing the milk with heavy cream and I will do this next time because mine was a bit "eggy". Thank you for submitting.

Witches' Brew

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2011
Punch is great... ADVICE YOU MUST TAKE: Get a good set of gloves. I bought a dollar 10-pack of cheap-o's and the hands were horrible. Kinda like the thin purple ones your doctor uses. All fat & blulgy at the hand then the fingers all broke off. Nothing like the photo. That photo is perfect! I like this recipe so next year I am going to buy a really nice latex-free set of gloves (expensive ones) and I am going to do this again. I love this recipe and I want mine to look like this one next year. Thanks!

Black Halloween Punch

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2011
Punch was great tasting with the orange & grape Kool-aid. Skipped the ginger-ale because the kids liked the kool-aid mixture with only orange & grape. The color was awesome! Black as any drink can get that I would consume. Really it looked great! Dry ice is a must to create that look. Only problem I had was the frozen hand. I froze 3 gloves (non-latex) filled with wild cherry kool-aid and all three of them had the fingers broken off while I was rinsing them to "slide" out and they just looked disformed. I had to call them hearts (which did work). I am not blaming the chef here I only want to say that you better buy a good set of gloves to make the hands. I used the crappy flimsy dollar pack. A better more durable latex-free glove will do the trick. I will do this again next year. Thanks for the idea.

Spaghetti Carbonara II

Reviewed: Sep. 4, 2011
I have never had Carbonara in my life. When this recipe came through on my email I just had to try it. Oh boy am I glad I did. I used a little more bacon, 6 eggs and about 1/3 cup of fat free half & half. I eyeballed the garlic measure. I did not use olive oil because after draining the bacon there was enough to sautee the onions without the oil. I did beat the eggs with the cheese, half & half and parsley before adding. We topped it with a generous helping of parmesan & romano cheese and fresh cracked black pepper. You will have to adjust the salt measure to your liking. This recipe is a keeper! I will be making it again. For the people that don't like eggs, I suggest you try this as this does not have an egg flavor or texture. As a matter of fact I plan on making this for an egg hater that I know without her knowing just to see what she thinks. Thanks for sharing.

Shepherd's Pie

Reviewed: Aug. 4, 2011
I used this recipe as a tool to create my own based on my family's tastes. So if you don't want to hear what changes I made then don't read on. I followed the recipe but added Worcestershire sauce, package of brown gravy instead of flour and about a cup of frozen peas to hamburger mixture. Also, after I mashed the carrots I just threw it into the mixture. I didn't measure the cheese so I probably used more like a cup. This came out amazing. Hearty, filling and a great way to sneak carrots into a dish. My hubby & boys had second helpings. We will be making this again and again. Thanks for a great recipe!

Salisbury Steak

Reviewed: Jul. 28, 2011
I myself hate Salisbury Steak... You know the gross cafeteria or TV dinner kind... However my family loved this. I had my hubby grill the meat patties and I made the gravy (from your ingredients) of which I actually enjoyed. Patties with gravy were pretty darn good. Had mashed potatoes & sauteed spinach. Thanks for a good recipe. Throw this together your way and it's a winner! All depends on your tastes. We liked the patties grilled. Gravy was tasty on the grilled patties.

Oven Fried Chicken III

Reviewed: Jul. 28, 2011
Going through my saved recipes and I can say I love this one... I will wait until it cools down here until I oven bake anything. I did make this last winter and I did throw in more fresh garlic because I LOVE garlic. Also I know I used light mayo because I don't buy anything else. Looking forward to making this again this late fall/winter.

Cindy's Awesome Clam Chowder

Reviewed: Jul. 28, 2011
More clams & use all juice... Add some red or white wine vinegar. Probably 2 to 4 tablespoons per pot. Trust me I was skeptical but after reading another recipe from this site I tried the chowder with out the vinegar and it was good. I added the vinegar and I fell in love. Now I even add vinegar to Campbells or Pregresso clam chowder. Try it and you will be hooked. I have had alot of NE clam chowders in my life...

New England Clam Chowder I

Reviewed: Jul. 28, 2011
I can say I love the Clam Chowder from another Allrecipes.com user who uses red wine vinegar! OMG it just makes the meal. I even throw in a tablespoon to the Campbells Chunky or Progresso canned soup just to get that tastel Some how that tiny little bit of vinegar makes a huge difference. Never throw out the clam juice! Use it in your chowder. It makes the flavor that much better!

Split Pea and Ham Soup I

Reviewed: Jul. 28, 2011
The most basic split pea recipe I have eve seen... If you are lookig for a recipe that calls for very limited ingredients then you have found it. this one was very blah to us. I was kinda hoping the simplicity of this recipe was going to be like what my grandmother used to make. It was lacking taste. However I give it more stars for the simplicity...

Best Steak Marinade in Existence

Reviewed: Jul. 28, 2011
I'm going through and reviewing all the recipes I have tried and I can say I like this one. I use far less olive oil because I really don't see the need. I also use less lemon juice because it will "cook" the meat. Not necessary to use only white pepper so I just used good old fashion fresh cracked black pepper (yumm). Marinate with soy sauce, olive oil (2 tbsp), splash of lemon juice, Worcestershire, minced garlic, parsley and tsp cracked pepper. NO NEED to blend in blender. Just throw in a non-reactive bowl or baggie (my choice) Marinate for at least 2 hours. Take the out of baggie toss on grill as you normally would and they come out quite nice.
