Today I just planned my meals and made my grocery list in about 10 minutes.  This used to take me hours.  I love the Menu Planner. MORE

About this Cook
I like to cook every night for my family. I like shopping the store aisles for new items to cook with. In the future I would like to go to a food show. Send me any suggestions if you have been to a good food show.
My favorite things to cook
Baking is my favorite activity. My chocolate chip cookies are famous.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Cooking every night so that my family can be together doing the same activity for at least for 30 minutes each day.
My cooking tragedies
I was trying to brown coconut under the broiler - that was the first time I ever used a fire extinguisher.

Winter Fruit Salad with Lemon Poppyseed Dressing
M-I-L made this and it was excellent. She added one apple and 2 pears on the hard side. I would eat this as a meal.

Chewy Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies
I made a mistake and followed the advice of other people and added the 1/2 c extra flour and 1/2 tsp baking soda. The cookies did not spread out. The batter was so dry they kept the shape of the scoop I used before I put them in the oven. I had to flatten them out near the end to get them into the round shape. If you add more flour don't add much. I don't know if you would want to add more baking soda. I'll have to try these again later on and see what works best.

Juicy Marinated Steaks
I marinated the rib-eyes all day while I was at work. When we got home my husband threw the steaks on the grill and cooked them to medium. They were mouth watering. We baked potatoes and I made a salad to go with it. It was as if we were at a steak house.
