Cinnamon Swirl Bundt Coffee Cake

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2013
The flavor was great, but I thought it was a bit on the dry side. I would likely make this again.

Colleen's Slow Cooker Jambalaya

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2012
The flavor was ok - definitely needed some tabasco, but you really can't do sausage in a slow cooker. It came out soft and soggy. The texture was just awful. We will stick to our usual way of making jambalaya.

Bow Tie Pasta with Sausage and Sweet Peppers

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2012
This is ok - a little bland, but I was expecting that. I followed the recipe as written. I think if I make it again I will add some onion and a touch of garlic to give it more flavor. I also like the idea of adding some red pepper flakes, but i have young kids who wouldn't appreciate that very much. My only other complaint is that by adding the peppers at the same time as the sausage they got a little soft/soggy. I would add them later in the cooking process.

Garlic Pita Bread Bites

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2012
These were so good and so easy. I think the preparation method could easily be transferred to french bread for a more traditional garlic bread.

No Bake Chocolate Oat Bars

Reviewed: Sep. 16, 2012
These are delicious. I wasn't paying as much attention to the directions as I should have and ended up using the entire bag of chocolate chips instead of just one cup. I also reduced the butter as other reviewers suggested. They turned out very rich but the crumbles on the top didn't stay put. I would probably make this again.

Hungarian Goulash II

Reviewed: Jul. 28, 2012
My husband loved this and asked me to keep this recipe. I thought it was pretty kids, but the kids didn't much care for it. I did follow the directions, but when i got home from work it looked like very little liquid was left in the crockpot so I added some beef broth and made the sauce from that. I will likely make this again. It was super easy.

Lemon Cream Pasta with Chicken

Reviewed: Jun. 24, 2012
I didn't much care for this recipe. It was edible, but the flavor did nothing for me. The only change I made was to swap shrimp for the chicken. With that I didn't bake it I just pan fried it quickly. I probably won't make this again as written. I feel there are so many other things I could do to make this better and that would just be a new recipe. Examples would be to omit the cream and replace with wine. Use fresh garlic in place of powdered. I would add mushrooms, tomatoes and scallions...

Fudge Brownies I

Reviewed: Jun. 13, 2012
I don't typically make changes to a recipe the first time I make it, but after reading the first two reviews I decided to take their advice. I used 6 oz of chocolate and 2 eggs as well as baked them in a 8" square pan. With those changes these are absolutely the best brownies I've ever had. I've made this recipe twice and both times these were awesome! The first time I made these I thought they were a bit greasy though, so the second time I reduced the butter to 1 1/2 sticks as well as reduced the sugar by 1/2 cup. They were still great. My one piece of advice would be to not trust the toothpick test. I tested the brownies after 45 min, 50 min and 55 min and each time the toothpick came out dirty. I finally pulled them out of the oven after 55 min and while they still tasted yummy they did over bake. Next time I will stick t the 45 min rule and pull them out regardless of how clean/dirty the toothpick is.

Southern Pulled Pork

Reviewed: May 28, 2012
I have made this recipe approximately 5 times and have always made it as written. The most recent time I made this dish I opted not to brown the meat or onion/garlic mixture. I just threw everything into the crockpot and let it cook. It turned out just as well as when I do brown the meat. I will continue to make this recipe, which I always pair with the Bourbon Whiskey BBQ Sauce that can also be found on AR.

Bourbon Whiskey BBQ Sauce

Reviewed: May 28, 2012
I am prefacing my review by stating that I don't actually care for barbeque sauce. With that said, I actually really like this recipe and always pair it with Southern Pulled Pork recipe from AR, which I have made approximately 5 times. It complements the dish well and everyone who has tried it likes it. I don't change anything in the recipe as it is perfect as written. I will continue to make it for years to come.

Gnocchi in Fontina Sauce

Reviewed: May 19, 2012
The sauce rocks! I couldn't fine gnocci at two different grocery stores so I ended up serving it on ravioli instead. I'm sure the gnocci would have been even better. The sauce is so rich this is definitely not something you can make too often.

Brown Sugar Meatloaf

Reviewed: May 19, 2012
I enjoyed this recipe, but my kids didn't care for it. I followed the recipe except for putting the brown sugar/ketchup glaze on top instead of the bottom.

Great base, but too cinnamon-y for me. I will use this recipe again for other flavors though.

Tomato-Cream Sauce for Pasta

Reviewed: May 7, 2012
This was pretty good - the only change was that I used plain diced tomatoes instead of italian style since I already had those in the cupboard and I pureed the tomatoes mixture. I found it to be a bit bland so I may play around with the spices a bit next time, but it could also have been because I used plain diced tomatoes.

Grilled Baked Potatoes

Reviewed: May 7, 2012
These were good - I followed the instructions as written. I laid some foil on the grill and cooked them on top of that and the bottoms burned. I think I'll have to find an alternative way next time.

Rich and Creamy Tomato Basil Soup

Chocolate Surprise Cupcakes

Reviewed: Apr. 29, 2012
These were good and easy. I ended up putting buttercream frosting on top, which was good, but a bit too sweet for me. Next time I will probably do a glaze or some light frosting.

Chicken Chimichangas with Sour Cream Sauce

Reviewed: Apr. 20, 2012
Absolutely fantastic! I made these with homemade tortillas (made the process very time consuming), but the end result was great. These had a great flavor and the sauce was yummy. I didn't change a thing! Thank you for this one.

Pasta e Olio

Reviewed: Apr. 18, 2012
I love the simplicity and ease of this recipe. I did omit the red pepper just because I have small kids and know they can not handle the spice. I would love to try it with that another time though. This recipe is a keeper and I will be making it often - especially those days when I don't have time to prepare a time consuming meal. I think this would also be good with some shrimp as well.

Easy Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream

Reviewed: Apr. 16, 2012
This was great! I followed this recipe to a T. The only change I might make is to chop up the chocolate chips a bit more. They were a little big for me.
