Cranberry Orange Wheat Scones

Reviewed: Jul. 2, 2013
These scones are made for whole wheat flour and thus give a nice consistency and taste. They are crisper than many scone recipes, so some may want a lighter scone. We liked 'em.

Blueberry Shortbread Bars

Reviewed: Aug. 20, 2012
As usual, Chef John delivers a great recipe. I wanted a cookie bar for my favorite mechanics at our local Midas shop who love cookies. I don't do cookies well, and usually take them scones ( the Savoy recipe here at AR). After watching John's video, I thought these were a good compromise between cookies and scones. They turned out very well. Thanks Chef John.

Chef John's Beans and Greens

Reviewed: Aug. 2, 2012
John You have no idea how much you have improved meal time at our house. Your recipes are simple but profound and very delicious. I love anchovies but had some honey baked ham I had to use up, so that was my protein for this dish. I will use anchovies next time. Keep 'em coming. And thank you. Marjorie

Zucchini Patties

Reviewed: Jul. 23, 2012
Since I have a BlendTec it was easy to grate the zucchini, so this turned out to be easy and delicious. Before BT, i avoided these kinds of recipes, like potato pancakes, because the grating was so time consuming. Now I will glad trade potatoes for zucchini. Thanks.

Meat Marinade Magic

Reviewed: Jul. 23, 2012
This is a version of an Asian marinade I have made for hers. The addition of Tobasco is new, and I usually haven't used sesame. I do usually add a squeeze of lemon though. Typical in Chinese cooking to add some lemon to the soy so it cuts it.

I don't eat chicken but this one looks good, and is probably worth a few calories. Cute name.

World's Best Scones! From Scotland to the Savoy to the U.S.

Reviewed: Mar. 15, 2009
wow. these are amazing! Of course, I can never follow a recipe--have to innovate, so i used whole wheat flour, buttermilk and sour cream (which made them require a bit more baking time), and lots of cinnamon. Then I slathered with real butter and rose hips jam. Absolutely delicious, even if I had to use a fork. Mine were a bit softer, cause I was so afraid of over beating. :) Maybe next time they should be a tad tougher. Thanks for the great recipe.
