Baked Buffalo Chicken Dip

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2015
I made this for ME because "normal" people don't like blue cheese and I wanted to try a new recipe for buffalo dip. It was fantastic! Even the people I had over devoured it. Of course I didn't say there was blue cheese in it until after the fact. Anyways, my hubby even said that this will be the new way we make buffalo dip! (Normally we use 2-4 cups of shredded cheese, a whole bottle of franks, 2 cream cheese - that's it)

Pork Fried Rice

Reviewed: Oct. 4, 2012
I was tired and not motivated to cook anything plus there wasn't anything thawed from the freezer. My boyfriend stepped up to the plate and this turned out great. We gobbled up the whole pan of fried rice!

a good base recipe, the rating really depends on the wing sauce you buy

Honey Roasted Red Potatoes

Reviewed: Apr. 10, 2012
I used this as a base recipe to replicate some restaurant potatoes I ate recently. I didn't measure anything, increased the honey, used onion powder instead of onion, and added minced garlic and garlic powder. Overall, I am pleased and will definitely make these again!

Chocolate Cakes with Liquid Centers

Reviewed: Mar. 11, 2012
These are super sweet - just be warned! Perfect for an after dinner chocolate fix. I'm not sure if I would use 1 ounce less of chocolate next time I made it, but would definitely consider it. Anyways, really sweet or not, I still feel it is a 5 star recipe.

German Chocolate Cake Frosting II

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2012
First time making this instead of buying it in the store - superb! i added the cornstarch just because i tend to listen to reviewers. I also used a whole 7 oz bag of coconut too and probably more than a cup of pecans. Yummy in my tummy! I'll try not to use all of this on the cake so I can eat it out of the fridge :o)

Buffalo Chicken Dip

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2011
I didn't really measure anything and used this as a base recipe. In a slow cooker, I dumped in a pack of cheddar cheese, a pack of mozzarella cheese, 3 large chicken breasts shredded, a jar of franks, 2 packs of cream cheese, and probably about a cup of ranch. It tasted great, and you really can't go wrong with these flavors together :)

Salisbury Steak

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2011
We needed a quick dinner with ground beef and decided on this randomly. I used dry onion soup mix since that was what I had on hand. I also left out the ketchup and mustard because I was a little afraid what the turnout would be and threw in a packet of brown gravy. Lastly I added in a whole sliced onion, because, well, I love onion. These tasted super yummy and I would make them again for sure.

Pecan Tassies

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2011
I never baked a cookie from scratch before and these were my first attempt. They require a lot of love to make them and ended up taking me a good 2 hours for the 60 servings. My ending count was 80 cookies. These are so tasty and remind me of when my mom used to make them :-D Only difference I made was I used 2 sticks of margarine and 2 sticks of butter just because I wanted to save a couple sticks of butter for other cookies.

Margaritas

Mexico in a glass YUM YUM YUM - i sprinkle salt inside with the blender instead of putting it on the rim of the glass (not as messy). I haven't seen a 6 oz can of limeade though :P these just taste sooooo good! I would never attempt to find another recipe anywhere else because this is just perfect.

Baked Potato Skins

Reviewed: Oct. 8, 2011
AMAZING! instead of mixing the seasonings together, i just sprinkled them on (skin side, and potato side). my boyfriend and i ended up both agreeing that these babies stole the spotlight of our steak dinner!

Bow Ties with Sausage, Tomatoes and Cream

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2011
This was so good...even better the next day! I almost prefer there to be more chunks of tomato in it though. I used a large can (whole tomatoes) and a small can (chopped), and I could have probably used 2 large cans easily! The tomato and the sausage just paired perfectly together. Soo tasty! I added some corn starch to thicken up the sauce in the end because it just wasn't as thick as I wanted it. Also, I have no idea why anyone would cook the sausage in oil. Isn't there enough fat in sausage already?

Sloppy Joe Sandwiches

Reviewed: Aug. 16, 2011
It was a tad on the sweet side, which is weird for me, because I love sweet food. However, when you're saving $2 on a can of sloppy joe sauce to make this, I'll deal with it! My only change was that I added green pepper and onion, because, well, I add it in everything I eat almost :) This reminds me of the first recipe I learned from my dad, Ham BBQ...it's only missing the vinegar, which I may have to add next time I make these!

Baked Pork Chops I

Reviewed: Aug. 16, 2011
I'm a sucker for wine sauces. I've been making baked pork cops for a while now, except without the breading, and the mushroom soup (minus the wine) poured over a heaping of stuffing on top of the pork. This has surpassed this. It involves a little extra work with the breading, but it really adds a lot of flavor. My changes were that I simply baked the chops for about 30 minutes covered, then 10 more minutes uncovered to try and crisp up that breading that got mushy! I cooked the mushroom sauce on the stove and served it on the table with the meal for individuals to add as much or as little as they want. (I added a lot! YUM!)

No Bake Peanut Butter Pie

Reviewed: Aug. 16, 2011
I think I would have liked it more if I had an oreo crust or something. I don't feel compelled to give it a 5 star, I'm not sure why. It's pretty good though, I'm just not blown away.

Crab Rangoon III

Reviewed: Aug. 16, 2011
The wonton wrappers that I used made the breading so thin and even more crispy and decadent than ones that I get at my local Chinese joint. I made a few changes, the first change was adding green onion, since I already had some on hand, and it sounded like a great suggestion from past reviewers. The other change I made was doubling the cream cheese. It was an accident, but oddly enough, recommended by past reviewers. They just turned out wonderful! I'm hooked, and they are almost better than restaurant ones.
