Honest, have not been being lazy, but having had some sight problems.  Should all be corrected soon I hope, then will be able to share some funny and not so funny cooking experiences.   Hope you all are enjoying the sharing of your recipes.  I have put a couple in, but not heard… MORE

I am retired and a very happy woman. Loved my work in the medical field, but now am enjoying my life to the fullest as a retiree. Newly married (3 years), and we enjoy fly fishing, camping and just being together. What can I say, life is good. I enjoy doing things for others, whether it is baking, X-Stitching, or just hanging out with them.
My favorite things to cook
I love to make old family recipes.. My kind of cooking is not fancy, but I hear it is very good. I do second guess myself a times, but take chances at improvising and making the recipe my own. French cooking is my favorite. Must be because of the sauces. I love to bake bread, and make pies.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My Mother and Grandmother's Christmas cake. Meat pie, galantine and tete de fromage.
My cooking triumphs
French Canadian sugar pie... that I was accustomed to, and continued to make and changed a couple of things with it. Meat pie.. I took our family's recipe and dressed it up.. My husband tells me I should bake and sell them as they are so good. He is biased.
My cooking tragedies
Oh there are a few, and as I get to know you better, I shall "secretly" tell you about them.

Creamy Banana Bread
I have made a recipe like this that was in my family, and I add more bananas when needed. When my bananas start to turn brown I throw them in the freezer and use these for my banana bread.
