Slow Cooker Pernil Pork

Reviewed: May 3, 2015
Have made this numerous times and follow the recipe to the letter, except I use 1 T of dried oregano. Make sure you blend in the blender, don't try to shortcut it as I have tried before. I shred this and use it to make carnitas and they are wonderful!

Raita

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2014
This is amazing. I do not use the sour cream and only use two cucumbers at most (for our family of 3). I keep everything else the same including the garlic, which to me makes the dish. It is very important to chill it. This has become a staple not just for Indian meals but as a side for sandwiches, etc. My 9 year old son literally cheers when it is part of the menu!

Authentic Chicken Tikka Masala

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2014
Amazing! Have made it several times. Don't substitute anything. The second time I realized I didn't have tomato paste or chili peppers so I tried to improvise. Still good but very noticeable difference.

Dark Chocolate Orange Fondue from NESTLE®

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2014
Very good. I used some orange juice concentrate instead of the liquor. The dark chocolate makes it very rich but that was ok with me.

Homemade Baked Beans

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2014
I submitted this version and what I created originally does not show 1 cup water. Perhaps that was added by Allrecipes when it was published. That would definitely make it too soupy in my opinion. One tip is that I often use the pre-cooked bacon and it works just as well and saves a step.

Grandma Maggio's Spaghetti Sauce

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2014
Have already made this twice in two weeks. Very good. I only omitted the mushrooms but added green peppers. The second time I didn't have fresh basil and it was still very good but it was better with it.

Orange Pecan French Toast

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2014
I was disappointed. Much of the carmelized sugar stuck on the bottom of the pan. What I did lift up was really sticky and chewy. I also did not taste orange at all. I did not have thick bread so used two thinner slices. I might try it again but put the sugar/butter/pecan between the slices. Then I'd make an orange syrup to pour on top when serving. The taste was OK just not at all what I expected.

Frozen Margarita Pie

Reviewed: Jun. 9, 2013
It was all I could do not to eat the whole pie myself! I omitted the tequila and food coloring and used a ready made graham cracker crust.

Brazilian Lemonade

Reviewed: Apr. 13, 2013
I've made this a few times and I juice the limes as the straining seemed like too much work. It is still VERY delicious.

Homemade Baked Beans

Reviewed: Mar. 16, 2013
I use this recipe as a base, using 2 cans northern beans (undrained) which cuts down on the cooking time. I cut the onion to 2 small, the sugar to 3/4 c, and added 1/4 c ketchup, 2 T mustard, 1 T vinegar and 1 tsp. garlic powder.

No Bake Peanut Butter Pie

Reviewed: Mar. 9, 2013
Very good! I halved the recipe for just one pie and made it as is a couple of times but then made a few changes. I used an oreo crust and topped the pie with a thin layer of whipped cream and drizzled with melted semisweet chocolate and peanut butter before freezing. I also added a cookie dough layer on the bottom that is 1/2 cup peanut butter and 3/4 cup powdered sugar. Makes it very peanut buttery!

Kafta (BBQ)

Reviewed: Mar. 9, 2013
My family loves these. Today, I flattened them out into thin hamburgers, broiled them, and served with pita bread, spinach, tomatoes and Greek cucumber sauce to make "gyros."

Molly's Mouthwatering Tzatziki Cucumber Sauce

Reviewed: Mar. 9, 2013
Amazing sauce!! I omitted mayo but no other changes. Just a tip, I just dumped the cucumber onto some layered paper towels and let it sit for maybe 5 minutes and it drained just fine. I used this sauce with the kafta recipe on here to make "gyros" with pitas, spinach and tomato. Very yummy!
