Debbie's Special Cranberry Sauce

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2013
I left the cinnamon stick out of this recipe but otherwise followed the directions. I really liked the addition of prunes to this one! This will be one of two recipes that I'll put on my Thanksgiving table! Thanks, Swest!

Easy Cranberry Raspberry Sauce

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2013
I was looking around for a new cranberry sauce for Thanksgiving Day, and I made a smaller version of this one. This one is good and definitely easy. I think this will take a backseat to another one that I've tried, but this will definitely be used on those delicious sandwiches that we'll enjoy after Thanksgiving! Thanks, DebAnn!

Easy Cranberry Orange Relish

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2013
This is an interesting version of cranberry sauce/relish, something new for me. I made a smaller version and so added just a pinch of cinnamon. I think this will be great to put on sandwiches for turkey leftovers. This is not something I would put on my plate on Thanksgiving Day. But I will enjoy this later! Thanks, TXGIRLSX3!

Buttermilk Ranch

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2013
This is EXCELLENT! This goes to the top of my list. How could another photo take the place of Sherri's? Hubby LOVED it! Thanks so much. This will go down as an excellent choice of dressings.

Oven Roasted Baked Potatoes

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2013
Very nice change from the usual roasted potatoes! I would suggest melting the exact amount of coconut oil but adding it to the potatoes a little at a time because I did think there was maybe just a little too much there (hubby didn't). I also would go a little short on the salt for the same reason (hubby didn't think so). I did a small batch of these because it is just the two of us. I ran out of the one kind of onion, so I used a combo of sweet and red onion and shallots. I think I preferred the shallots, actually. And I'm not sure why pepper wasn't used, but that's easily rectified. I'm giving this the whole 5 star rating in spite of what I've written because I know that these will be made a number of times in this kitchen! Thanks so much, Joni!

Pizza Chicken Bake

Reviewed: Nov. 17, 2013
Well, Rhoda, this certainly took care of our pizza craving AND our comfort food craving! Yum! I thought since you used wheat rigatoni pasta that it would be OK for me to use my Trader Joe's pasta. I also used TJ's Traditional Marinara Sauce. Since this was just for the two of us, I pared down the recipe for 2 servings. But then I goofed and put all the required sauce on the bottom with the uncooked pasta. That meant that I needed to add more for the top layer. But no problem! It all worked out well. Delicious! Not free of calories, but certainly free of required work to fix dinner! Thanks for making us happy campers!

Apple Almond Crunch Salad

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2013
Delicious salad! I used Raspberry Vinaigrette Dressing from this site for the dressing, and it was a great accompaniment! I used Craisins rather than the raisins (preferences of guests I was serving), but either one works great for us! Thank you so much for this recipe, SKETTYMAKER!

Raspberry Vinaigrette Dressing

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2013
I used this dressing to accompany Apple Almond Crunch Salad from this site. I went a little short on the sugar but otherwise followed the recipe. I love using all the different types of vinegar. Mine was a white balsamic raspberry vinegar that I picked up at HomeGoods. Thanks for your recipe, JAN W!

Sugar Snap Peas

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2013
This is a great way to prepare snap peas! These went very well with a dinner that I prepared last evening! In the past I've stir-fried the peas in a similar method, but this cleared the way for me to finish plating a dinner and still have the veggies warm! Thanks, CJCOLLINS!

Rosemary Pull-Apart Dinner Rolls

I made these using 23 grams as the size of my rolls, and that produced 30 luscious rolls! Thanks so much for another great recipe, Chef John! The people at my dinner party thought they were great!

Dijon Roasted Potatoes

I made these potatoes last night to accompany a rack of pork that I served to company. I used gold potatoes because that's what I had on hand, and I followed the recipe. Thanks for the recipe, LilSnoo!

Fig and Brie Crostini

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2013
I served this tonight for company, and it was a hit! One thought there was too much cinnamon/cloves, but the others wanted the recipe for sure. I followed the directions as written using both mission and calimyrna figs. I used Jazz apples rather than Granny Smith. Be sure to not over bake the plain bread before adding the other ingredients, and I thought it was good to have the brie at room temp. Excellent appetizer! Thanks for making me look like a real pro, ShannonMcK!

Thanksgiving Leftovers Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2013
This didn't really work for us. I think it was doomed from the start because the ingredients didn't really come together. Sorry, Kraft! I gave it a really good try.

Thanksgiving Turkey Brine

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2013
I used Trader Joe's kosher split turkey breast and so cut this recipe to 3 servings. The turkey only sat in the brine in a freezer bag for 4 1/2 hours in the fridge, and when I put it in the oven for just a little less than 2 hours at 350 degrees, I didn't do a single thing to the meat. It turned out just great! I froze the bones from this and will do one more at least before Thanksgiving because I think this will give me the very best turkey stock for gravy on the Big T-Day! I highly suggest that people try this because it was extremely tasty. Thanks so very much, Henry! Excellent!

Chicken and Artichoke in Lemon Vodka Sauce

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2013
This was an awesome dinner tonight! There were two changes I made: I used a different pasta (Trader's Vegetable Radiatore), and I used goat cheese rather than feta--personal preferences. Otherwise, I did follow this recipe. I prefer Trader Joe's marinated artichoke hearts because they aren't so overly wrought with salty flavor, and the sun-dried tomatoes were in a pouch already julienned. It was totally excellent. The chicken I used was already in tenders, so that made it even easier to make. Excellent flavor! I will definitely be making this dish on a regular basis! Thank you so much, NELLIE73.

Ranch Dressing II

This is a very tasty dressing. My husband loves this creamy type of dressing to mix with Italian dressing--a throwback to a taste he loved many years ago. Thanks very much for this easy-to-make salad dressing, DAWNIA.

Crispy and Tender Baked Chicken Thighs

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2013
I have to admit to using boneless skinless thighs, but if I'd done it with skin I'd have had to taken it off anyway. So here you go. Wonderful way to season chicken and use a heavier side dish to make a really nice meal. We enjoyed our dinner a lot. We had the Foreplay Pasta with Brie, Basil, and Garlic from this site along with the chicken. Thanks a lot for our dinner, Nicole.

Brown Rim Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2013
These cookies were pretty good---maybe not very sweet. It's been a long time since I've made anything with shortening, and I'm not used to that aftertaste that comes with it. I appreciate that your family loves this tradition. What can be better than that?

Peanut Butter "Snickerdoodles"

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2013
I liked very much the taste of these cookies. I wish I could have a little of the Snickers bar with every bite of the cookie, however. The dough was easy to work with, and I did cut back the size of the cookie quite a bit. This does give me ideas about how to make these so I get that Snickers taste more often! Thanks, Jamie!
