Indonesian Satay

Family went crazy over the chicken, not so much the peanut sauce. The sauce just tasted like melted peanut butter to me; I couldn't taste anything but that. Might try some other sauce next time. On the whole, this was a big hit, and I will be making this again. It is a little work intensive first time making it, but I figure next time will be easier, and it was well worth the applause I got at dinner!

Garlicky, Spicy and Sesamey Green Beans

Family liked this for a change of taste. I used about 1/4 of the amount of sesame seeds in the recipe; don't dump them in all at once, sprinkle until you have what you want. I didn't have regular sesame oil, mine was chili sesame oil, so there was a little heat to them, but not too much. Seems a little work intensive first time you make it, but really is a pretty simple dish. I gave 4 stars partly because of the huge amount of sesame seeds just didn't seem right.

Mini Cheesecakes I

I was very happy with how these turned out; they are easy and delicious. I followed the directions exactly. As another reviewer pointed out, the amount of crushed vanilla wafers was quite a bit more than necessary. And also next time I think I will use crushed graham crackers for the "crust." But I highly recommend this recipe!

Ham Breakfast Braid

Husband and son really liked this. It has a lot of potential for more additions and variations. Another reviewer was right, though, 375 might be too high, so keep an eye on it if you bake at that temp. I baked it at 350 for 30 minutes and it was perfect. The temp was the only variation to the recipe I did. I made it for dinner and served it with a tossed salad. Next time I'm going to add a little broccoli, onion and garlic.

Pork Roast With The World's Best Pork Loin Rub

First time in a while I have WOW-ed my family. This was fantastic, and they said they would chose this over steak. They are spoiled to begin with, with many recipes from All Recipes, but this one really deserves its 5 stars. Thanks for a great recipe that I will use over and over. I followed the directions with no variation.

Quick Yeast Rolls

Just what I like, easy and good! I allowed 2 hrs. before dinner to make these, and that was perfect. The texture is so tender, almost cake-like. And the recipe is so easy, I think I could remember how to make these next time without looking. Thank you, DCASH.

Wonderful Banana Cake

I was pleasantly surprised when I found and used this recipe to use up some bananas and a cake mix that had been sitting in my cupboard for a while. It turned out as such a wonderful light texture! Although I am usually a "from scratch" baker, I think I will start keeping a box of cake mix around just for this purpose. It was so simple, yet a delicious result.

Dry Ranch Style Seasoning for Dip or Dressing

This is really good, and nice to make instead of worrying about having the Ranch Dressing packet on hand. I made this to go with a seasoned crackers recipe and it worked out great. I did add a sprinkle of hot pepper flakes just for a little heat. I was very happy to have found this recipe and will use it again.

Turkey Tetrazzini II

My family liked this dish very much. It was so easy to put together. Next time I make it, I will try to make sure the noodles are covered with the sauce, because the exposed noodles on top got hard and crunchy, which I did not like. My husband thought that was good, though! My changes: Used homemade turkey stock, added fresh broccoli to the spaghetti in the last minutes of cooking, put in a handful of leftover French Fried Onions and added just a bit of salt and pepper to the sauce. I will make this again.

Cheddar Beef Enchiladas

Excellent. And any leftovers reheat very well. I actually spread the sauce and cheese completely over the burritos because I thought they would get dried out with no moisture on them in the oven. Other than that, I followed the directions. I would highly recommend this recipe.

Basic Quiche by Shelly

Followed recipe without variation. Wish I would have paid attention to others who said 'too much cream, not enough eggs' because even after cooking it extra time, it was still runny and undone appearing, and not very appetizing to my family. Perhaps reheating it might make it better. There is lots left over. I will stick to using Swiss Cheese and Onion Quiche.

Nutty Raisin Clusters

These were easy to make and of course tasty with the nuts and raisins, but in NO WAY resemble the photo with the recipe. They are completely covered with chocolate. It should be renamed Chocolate Covered Nutty Raisin Clusters. I seriously doubt the photo depicts the same recipe that I made. They are not health food!

Chicken Pot Pie IX

Extremely good. This will go on my list of family favorites. Only changes I made was to substitute potatoes for peas because a family member doesn't like peas. I added the potatoes about one/third into the cooking/boiling step so they wouldn't get too soft. I followed the exact measurements for the ingredients and the sauce to solid ratio was perfect. I used the 'Puff Pastry' recipe from AR for the crust, and it made it extra good. Will make over and over again.

Slow Cooker Ham

Meh. Followed the instructions, but I used a spiral sliced, fully-cooked ham and put in the slow cooker at low for 5 hrs. Tasted okay, except it was very dried out. I read a lot of reviews to help me decide on how long to cook it and if there was anything special to do with the type of ham I used. Plenty of reviews, but still didn't make me 100% sure it would turn out well. Now I know. Will not use this method again. I gave it 3 stars for ease of prep and only slightly embarrassing me in front of my family. Should have gone with the Honey Glazed Ham recipe.

Granny Kat's Pumpkin Roll

This is simple to mix, but I found the devil in the details. The first batch I made was a disaster and fell apart when I rolled it up with the filling. I felt this was due to it not being baked long enough. I made a second one, and added 5 minutes to the bake time, and it came out fine. It still seemed to me to be a rather delicate cake, so handle it gently and don't be afraid if you use more than 2 Tbs. of powdered sugar when you dust the towel. Also, the first (disaster) time, I think my towel was too moist. The second time, I just sprinkled a bit of water on the towel with my fingers and it worked much better.

Breakfast Sausage Casserole

This was easy to prepare and convenient, however it didn't have anything special going for it. It was rather bland and would perhaps benefit from something to spice it up, perhaps garlic or something to give it heat. My husband and son, who know I want their opinions on new dishes I make, basically said, "Meh, it was okay, but nothing special." Probably won't make it again.

Stuffed Flank Steak

This turned out great for me. I did pound the meat and removed what I could of the connecting membrane. It was almost, but not quite, fork tender. I made it exactly as the recipe says to, but next time I am going to experiment with a different stuffing and seasonings. Also, I think I could have taken it out of the oven a bit sooner and next time I will check the temp of the meat sooner. Very good and will be making many more times.
