Sangria! Sangria!

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2012
I made this with a friend for the 4th. What a hit! Our guys loved it also. We didn't change a thing except to add more fruit and left out the sugar. We also couldn't wait it to drink it over night, but it was still delicious! Maybe the good wine was the trick to that?? Anyway, thanks for the recipe. It will get good use and make many people happy :-)

Homemade Flour Tortillas

Reviewed: Apr. 28, 2012
It's so great being able to make them homemade instead of buying them. I did use unbleached, white whole wheat flour from KAF. I didn't have lard, so I went against the recommendation of the author, but they still turned out good. I'm sure with lard they are even better, but I just never have it around. If you're having trouble rolling them round, place the balls between parchment paper (no flour needed) and be sure to use a long wooden roller, like for pizza dough. Then turn it 1/4 turn with each roll. Oh, and be sure to roll from the middle out. Thanks for the great recipe! Lynette

Split Pea and Ham Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2012
mmmm Yum! It turned out great! I used a big leftover ham bone and boiled it first to get the meat off and used that juice for the soup. No need for salt with my ham. Served with fresh bread, this is such a healthy and low cost meal.

Mexican Wedding Cakes II

This is a new Christmas tradition in our family. I made this recipe last year and next and we love them. I give a variety of cookies to the neighbors and many claim this to be their favorite.

Just as I remembered from my childhood. The whole family loves it. I will use this again! I did use 1 lb of hamburger and doubled the recipe.

I made "as is" and it turned out great. Very moist!!! And no one in our family could even tell it was made differently than what it says on the package directions.

Absolute Mexican Cornbread

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2011
I served several guests this as it makes a large pan full. They all loved it and have asked for the recipe. Personally I'd tone down the sugar. It was a bit sweet for our tastes, but that is relative I suppose. Excellent.

Lemon Curd

Reviewed: Jul. 31, 2011
Delicious. It was a little sweet if you just eat it outright, so I would use less sugar next time. I used this in a braided lemon braid and it was perfect in there even with being sweet.

Baked Garlic Parmesan Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 26, 2011
Some people recommended adding salt, but if you're trying to cut back on salt it is perfect how it is in this recipe. You can always add herbs to increase taste as needed without adding salt. I used fresh basil & it worked great. Thanks for the recipe :-)

Candy Cane Cookies I

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2010
Making these cookies drove me crazy. I even tried all the tips, but the dough breaks up too easily. I'll stick to other cookie recipes in the future. The taste of the dough is good though. We preferred almond and not the alternate suggestions of peppermint flavoring.

North German Gruenkohl (Kale) & Sausage

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2010
I rate it 5 stars, of course, or I wouldn't have posted it. How others will find it, will depend on how much they like kale and also from what region of Germany they tasted previous recipes.
