Savory Baked Cod

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2014
This is great. I followed the other reviewer's advice and added some crushed red papper, and the little bit of heat was a nice touch. Next time I will add more cheese over the top of the dish. It melted nicely with the rice and tomatoes. This is a very comforting meal.

Chicken Broccoli Ca - Unieng's Style

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2014
I followed the advice of other reviewers and tripled the soy sauce and oyster sauce, used chicken broth in place of the water, and cut way down on the pepper. I also added a generous tablespoon of sriracha sauce, so it was nice and spicy. It was a little salty but still really tasty. And so easy - I'll make this again!

Spinach, Egg, and Pancetta with Linguine

Reviewed: Apr. 3, 2014
Read the reviews before you make this, and it will be fabulous. I followed the recommendations of others and used half the pasta, double the spinach and pancetta and added some minced garlic along with the spinach. I also beat the eggs and added them to the hot pasta in the skillet and let them cook in the pasta. Very much like a carbonara, we loved it.

Rosemary Lamb Chops with Lemon Sauce

Reviewed: Feb. 14, 2014
The sauce is the star here - so easy and can be paired with lamb chops, pork chops, chicken breasts, a nice pork tenderloin.... so easy and so versatile. I made it with lamb chops, but I browned them in a skillet instead of broiling or grilling. The sauce was slow to thicken, so I added it to the pan juices after I had pulled out the chops - yum! It made the sauce even more tasty. I would have served this with mashed potatoes, but by the time I found this recipe, I had already put a couple of sweet potatoes in the oven. So I cooked a bag of baby carrots and served the chops and sauce on top of the carrots. It was awesome - this sauce would be good with anything!

Ribollita (Reboiled Italian Cabbage Soup)

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2013
This is so good and well worth the time. It isn't a hard recipe, just time-consuming. But the good news is that a lot of the time is passive so it's great for a multi-tasking day. I'll definitely make this again.

Linguine with Fresh Sage-Caper Sauce

Reviewed: Sep. 4, 2013
I had lots of garden herbs to use up so used a mixture of basil, oregano, chives, parsley and sage. With pipette pasta, it made a great side dish with grilled london broil and a grilled vegetable salad. My husband said it was the best pasta he has had in ages, and said that if we had gotten this at a restaurant, we would go back just for that pasta.

Melitzanosalata Agioritiki (Athenian Eggplant Salad)

This was a great way to use up summer garden produce. I used Japanese eggplant, green and yellow peppers, sweet onion and yellow squash. Simple and delicious.

Coconut Lime Rice

Reviewed: Aug. 8, 2013
I served this rice with jerk chicken thighs. It was very good but a little too sweet for me. I added extra lime juice to balance the sweetness of the coconut, but next time I will add some cayenne. As is, it was just the right accompaniment for the chicken.

Chicken Makhani (Indian Butter Chicken)

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2013
Wow - this is so flavorful and true comfort food. I added extra cayenne pepper and the heat was just perfect. So quick to make and it tasted as if it had simmered for a long time. I will definitely make this again.

Wow this is good. I wish it were hotter, so next time I will bump up the heat. Otherwise this is awesome.

Classic Jewish Chicken Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2012
Love the flavors, but the chicken needs to cook longer. I cooked the chicken almost two hours before I removed it and cut it up. I also made a few other changes - grocery store didn't have kohlrabi or parsnips, so I increased the carrots and potatoes and added a cut up turnip. I also didn't add the bouillon granules, but since I cooked the chicken longer, I didn't need the extra chicken flavor boost. I added a bag of kluski noodles at the same time I added the cut up chicken, and it turned out really well. With some good crusty bread, this makes a great comfort food meal. Giving it only three stars because of the problem with the initial cooking time, otherwise would be a solid a high four.

Brussels Sprouts and Barley Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2012
Good soup, very fresh and cabbagy. If I make it again, I will at least double the amount of barley, and may add bacon at the start to make this a heartier, more filling supper soup.

Michelle's Roast Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 26, 2012
I followed the recipe exactly and liked this very much. The sauce gives an Asian type of oniony flavor that is really different and savory. The whole house smelled fantastic while it was cooking.

Kielbasa with Brussels Sprouts

Reviewed: Sep. 26, 2012
I served this on top of mashed potatoes and it made my husband like brussels sprouts for a change. Really a unique and tasty way to serve an underappreciated vegetable! I will make this again next time I have a bounty of brussels sprouts. By the way, I used regular brussels sprouts and cut them in half and they cooked perfectly.

I followed the recipe exactly and it was bitter. Not sure if I would make this again, but might try it if I used more brown sugar.

Grilled Fish Tacos with Chipotle-Lime Dressing

Reviewed: Sep. 2, 2012
Woweee, these were good! Be prepared - the chipotle sauce is hot hot hot, but in our house we like a lot of heat so these were just the ticket for a summer evening. Didn't change a thing.

Greek Lamb-Feta Burgers With Cucumber Sauce

Reviewed: Sep. 2, 2012
The taste is awesome and the burgers were really juicy. The only problem was that they tended to fall apart because of the feta cheese. My suggestion would be to put the feta in the middle and form the burger around the cheese. They may hold together better that way. Otherwise this was great. Served the burgers with a little Greek salad and it was an awesome meal.
