About this Cook
I am a 32 year old woman. I have been married for twelve years. We currently have to sons, ages 7 and 11 and I am pregnat again, this time hoping for a girl. I am the first generation born in America (Brooklyn, NY). My family originally came to America from Russia. They are Russian Jew's. I speak Russian fluently. We lived in NY for a while then moved to Miami, Florida. I lived there with my family for 20 years. That is also where I met my wonderful husband, who is a black American. We have buetiful bi-racial children, a toy-pomeranian dog who is 15 years old, and a 7 month old black cat. My husband is a master electrician, who works for the untion. His job moved us to Baltimore, Maryland 6 years ago. We like it here, but plan on moving back to Florida in the next couple of years. God willingly, ofcourse. We are very joyous, outgoing people. We celebrate all of the Jewish and Christian holidays, and make the most out of every day that we are blessed with.
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook all kinds of foods. I will try anything once. I love spicey food but my husband and children don't care for it so I find that many times I try to adjust recipes to have a little spice in them but not to over power the dish, or my kids taste buds.

Maria's Pepper Steak
This was great. I read most of the reviews and made a few changes based on them. We loved it. I added ground ginger, red pepper flakes, and some corstarch at the end when we added the veggies back to the dish. I sauteed the veggies in olive oil first until they were crisp so they wouldnt be over cooked. I then removed them and kept them warm in another dish. I then fryed the meat strips on olive oil until they were done and ONLY then added the juices such as soy sauce, honey, etc. to the meat. Once I added the juices I added the sautted veggies and some cornstarch back to the mixture and cooked it for about 5 or 10 mts until everything was hot. I served it over white rice and it was delicious. Definitly a keeper and easy to make.

Easy Baked Tilapia
THIS IS THE BEST FISH THAT I HAVE EVER EATEN/MADE. RESTUARANT QUALITY! Line pan w/ foil. Put fish on pan and sprinkle lightly w/ salt and pepper. Add frozen cali and brocolli around fish w/ salt and pepper. Melt butter (LOTS), add one whole lemon squeezed, lots of fresh garlic, old bay, garlic powder, onion powder, seasoning salt, parsley and pepper. Pour sauce over fish and veggies. Bake 20 mts. covered. Uncover the fish during the last 10 mts and add breadcrumbs w/ parm cheese over fish. Goes great w/ rice. Spoon sauce over rice. Yummy!

Chicken Breasts with Balsamic Vinegar and Garlic
Amazing! This is my newest favorite chicken recipe. It tasted like something right out of a fancy resuraunt. I followed the recipe, only adding a little bit extra mushrooms, and one whole cup of chicken broth. This was delicious!!!! I will make it over and over again!
