Grilled Tuna Steaks with Dill Sauce

Reviewed: Jun. 18, 2013
We really liked these, but I think I'd reduce the sugar to 1 TBLS if I made these again, as it was a bit sweet for our taste. I really enjoyed the dill/mustard, but the sugar was a bit much. THANKS for the recipe, SPLASHME!

Campfire Potatoes

Reviewed: Jun. 17, 2013
Mr, LTH loved these! I thought they were good, but they weren't my favorite. I used one of the top reviewer's suggestions to up the flavor and skip the chicken broth (seemed like a big PITA on the grill). Our potatoes did turn fairly black on the bottom, WITH the grill on LOW heat, so I'd recommend grilling over INDIRECT heat. THANKS for the recipe, MARYANNE!

Savory Garlic Marinated Steaks

Reviewed: Jun. 17, 2013
WE liked this marinade, but it didn't knock our socks off or replace our "go to" marinade. I felt the honey was a bit much, so I'd reduce it if I made this again. Mr. LTH is not a vinegar fan, yet he didn't complain so the vinegar flavor must not have been too overpowering. THANKS for the recipe, Angie!

Deb's Spicy Summer Evening Mushrooms

Reviewed: Jun. 17, 2013
Good stuff! I left out the black pepper per personal preference, but left everything else the same. These made a nice accompaniment to grilled NY Strips. THANKS for the recipe, DEBMCQUEEN!

Hot Ponderosas!

Reviewed: Jun. 17, 2013
THis was just OK for us. I was expecting an explosion of flavor that I never really found. I think I may give this one more try in the oven/under the broiler instead of grilling and see if that changes my opinion. THANKS for the recipe, MCMIGUEL!

Grilled Shrimp Scampi

Reviewed: Jun. 17, 2013
Delicious! I followed the recipe to a "T" (other than subbing dried for fresh parsley) and we really enjoyed this served over some garlic and oil linguini. This is so quick and easy it may become a last minute dinner staple at the LTH house. THANKS for the recipe, Holly Murphy!

Banana, Chocolate, and Almond Breakfast Oatmeal

Reviewed: May 25, 2013
I can't decide what I think of this...I felt like I was eating No Bake Cookie "batter" for breakfast (which made me want to add peanut butter). I skipped the banana because I don't care for them and I think it needs banana to add a but of sweetness. If I made this again, I'd probably add cherries to replace the bananas. THANKS for the recipe, Lissa!

Grilled Asparagus

Reviewed: May 21, 2013
Can't go wrong w/grilled asparagus! Season to your own personal preference, but EVOO and salt works just fine, too. Mr. LTH grilled these for about 5 minutes alongside some tuna after the first flip and they were perfectly al dente.

Grilled Jalapeno Tuna Steaks

Reviewed: May 21, 2013
This was a nice tuna recipe, but I found myself wanting a little something more, like a sauce. I did have to call a last minute audible and sub lemon juice for the lime juice when I discovered we were out as I was prepping the marinade (too many mojitos...?). There wasn't a ton of heat, so don't be afraid of the spice if you're not a spicy fan (I did deseed and demembrane my jalap, though). THANKS for the recipe, JasBradley!

Spaghetti with Broccoli and Chicken

Reviewed: May 7, 2013
This is a nice pasta, but I'd prefer w/out the chicken, actually. I also prefer to saute the broccoli in the EVOO/garlic, along w/a little crushed red hot pepper. All in all, this is a pretty blank canvas to customize to your personal tastes. THANKS for the recipe, dali!

Slow Cooker Spicy Chicken

Reviewed: May 7, 2013
This is a super moist, and versatile, chicken recipe. I made to use part in a pasta recipe and froze the rest to use later. It'd be useful for chicken tacos, burritos, nachos, and quesadillas. THANKS for the recipe, shmeya!

Quick and Easy Savory Garlic Spread

Reviewed: May 7, 2013
I made this to top fresh Italian bread to make garlic bread to serve w/a pasta dinner. It came together quickly, w/staples, and had nice flavor. I think I'd like to try a dollop atop a grilled steak. Mmmmm. THANKS, Calibizaro!

Peach Avocado Salsa

Reviewed: May 6, 2013
In the interest of full disclosure, I must admit this turned into mango salsa when I couldn't locate fresh peaches in a 25 mile radius. I tried, though. I'd already planned to leave the avocado out, as the submitter mentions in the tagline, due to personal preference. I made my usual parsley for cilantro sub and this was outstanding served a top "Blacked Tuna" from this site. THANKS for the recipe, *Sherri*!

Blackened Tuna

Reviewed: May 6, 2013
Out of this world! This will become my new impress company go to; it's so easy, yet tastes restaurant quality. I served this topped w/ a fresh mango salsa and it was fantastic. Mr. LTH found it a little spicy, so I'll probably make a dill sauce of some sort to cool it off a bit for him next time. And yes, there will be a next time. THANKS, Denys!

Calico Slaw

Reviewed: May 6, 2013
This is a tough recipe for me to rate objectively. While I don't LOVE IT, as 5 stars would indicate, I DO love how nutrient dense it is for a low calorie return. Add to that the fact Mr. LTH said he "liked the slaw" and he HATES vinegar and it'll definately get repeat action at the LTH house. I did double the vinegar, but leave the sugar the same, as I wasn't sure 2T would coat. I messed up and bought broccoli slaw mix instead of the bagged cabbage and it worked out well. I think next time I'll sub a Granny Smith for the Golden Delicious. THANKS for such a good for us recipe, sandra!

Greek Pasta Salad

Reviewed: May 6, 2013
This is a nice, basic, basic, Greek style, pasta salad. I did reduce the oil a bit and still found it a bit too oily for my tastes (and I even measured the dry pasta to be sure to keep the ratio as written). We don't like olives, so I left them out, but did add some chopped banana peppers, which were a lovely addition. THANKS for the recipe, Ms. Laroche!

Slow Cooker Baked Potatoes

Reviewed: May 5, 2013
How have I never known you can cook baked potatoes in the crock and why would I ever cook them any other way? These turned out wonderfully. I cooked them on low for about 8 hours. I used my *normal* sized round crock pot and only 2 potatoes w/no issues. This WILL get a lot of use in our house. THANKS for the recipe, Nurse Ellen!

Sauteed Mushrooms (Quick and Simple)

Reviewed: May 5, 2013
These were a nice compliment to grilled steaks. I agree that the seasoning/mushroom ratio is a bit overwhelming, but is an easy fix. These would be great used in a quesadilla! THANKS for the recipe, NolaBlu!

Night Lemon Sauza®-Rita

Reviewed: Apr. 30, 2013
This was an ok cocktail, but I prefer my cocktails a bit more chilled, so I opted to shake all but the lemon lime soda over ice for an extra chill. I used True Lemon and Diet 7-Up for fewer empty calories. CHEERS, Sauza!
