My sons LOVE sausage balls. When they were younger, I would make double or triple batches on the weekends, put them in ziplock bags & put in the freezer. It was so easy to grab a few out of the freezer, wrap them in a paper towel & microwave for them to eat in the car on the way to school or… MORE

I used to think I hated meatloaf. The only meatloaf I had growing up was dry and flavorless. After I was married a few years and started figuring out the flavors that my husband and I liked, I realized that I could cook according to our tastes. I decided to try to make a meatloaf that we… MORE

Here is a brownie recipe using oat flour and whole wheat pastry flour. Again, I have just taken out the white flour and sugar and replaced them with whole grains and NATURAL sweeteners with zero or very low glycemic index. And if you have not heard about the amazing health benefits of coconut… MORE

It's almost Father's Day! My Dad passed away in 2002 and I still miss him everyday. I am so thankful that God blessed with me with a husband that I can be proud of. He is a country boy & a junk collector, but he is honest, dependable, hard working, loyal, trustworthy, hard working,.... did I… MORE

I do not claim to be a nutritionist. I am only sharing the information that I have found that has helped me this last year on my journey back to health. I am not where I want to be, but praise God, I have come a long way in a year's time. This time last year my liver was failing, my blood… MORE

Southerners eat a lot of cole slaw. And they like their cole slaw sweet. I admit that I used to like mine that way also. I love cole slaw, but can't eat it at most restaurants because a lot of people put celery or celery seed in it. YUCK! One thing you will never find in this blog is a recipe… MORE

One of the things that I have missed most by not eating white flour is pancakes. I didn't eat them very often, but every once in awhile, I would crave pancakes. I have tried unsuccessfully several times in the past year to make healthy pancakes that were good enough that you didn't miss the… MORE

About Me
After not feeling good & being in terrible pain for several years, I was diagnosed with degenerative arthritis, diabetes & my liver was not working properly. I took charge of my health & am learning to eat & cook foods that nourish my body & make me feel better. My other blog is http://4newtons.blogspot.com/.
My favorite things to cook
I am learning to cook nutritious food without artificial sweeteners & processed ingredients. I focus on naturally low glycemic & anti inflammatory foods. I try to sneak in as much nutrition into my dishes as I can.
