Wonderful! I adjusted the seasonings a bit based on what I had on hand (celery seed instead of salt. mustard instead of mustard powder, no chili powder - I just hate the stuff) and rubbed the roast before putting it in the cooker. I didnt have the 10 hours it called for so I cooked it for 6 hours on high instead of 10 on low. It was wonderful! I checked on it to make sure it wasnt drying out and put it fat side up so the fat would baste the meat and keep it moist as it cooked. A bit of beef base in the water added a little extra kick. Next time I will add a few veggies in it for even more flavor!

We made them this year for a New Years party and they FLEW off the plate! If you dont like them burning hot (which I dont) make sure to get all the seeds out when you slice the peppers - we even rinsed them in cold water afterwards to make sure they were all gone. DELICIOUS! I sitll got a few "frisky" bites but was able to eat about 10 of them! This is a keeper!

I loved this icing! We used it on my sons birthday cupcakes and it was just right. It was a bit soft but piped fine. We weren't really looking for any great detail anyway - just cupcake coverage. Unlike most icings this one was light - delicate - delicious!! Not too sweet with a velvety mouth feel that reminded me of whipped cream. I usually scrape most of the frosting off my cakes and cupcakes but I ate every bit of this icing! If you want something that will not overpower your dessert with a sickly sweet frosting this is it!

I was specifically looking for a sour cream banana bread that looked like my grammas recipe and I found it! I hate the dry cakey crumbly stuff, this was velvety and moist! We didn't have walnuts so I thrwu in slivered almonds and it was wonderful! As soon as I get more walnuts I will use that as an exuce to make it again! This one is going in my recipe box as a keeper!

I have never grilled a turkey before and was realy worried it wouldnt work. But I wanted to keep my house cool so I tried it. It was amazing! I took the spices and rubbed them all over the turkey before I seared it - then I added an extra two cups of water to the pan when I put it in. The drippings mixed with the spices and turkey juice made the most decadant gravy!! My turkey was about 13 pounds but it finished in about 3 hours. The temp guage on my grill read a steady 400 the whole time. When I lifted the lid to check the turkey it had gently stewed in its own juices and spices! It fell apart - not a pretty turkey - but so moist and tender and flavorful - my ex-husband even commented on how wonderful it was and he is a man of few compliments! The kids raved about it - and the next day turkey sandwhiches too! I can't wait to try it again with a few chickens and play with the spices a bit too! We will be grilling our turkeys from now on!

Wonderful! I left out the cloves and nutmeg and just used the cinamon as suggested. I dried these in my dehydrator - very fast!

I doubled the recipe and added all mixed chopped fruit instead of just cherries - they were wonderful! Watch them when they bake though - they can brown quickly.

VERY FAST! VERY EASY! The first time I made it with canned peaches and I agree - omit most of the sugar. I added the cinnamon and a bit of nutmeg too. It was wonderful! The second time I used fresh peaches and it needed the sugar. I keep the little 9 ounce cake mixes in the pantry just for this recipe but I have doubled it and used a whole cake mix (in a much larger pot) and it turned out great! I have used several different fruits, altering the spices to match the fruit (apple pie spice with apples, etc.) and they have all turned out very well. I made it once with chocolate cake and strawberries and served it with whipped cream on top - YUMMY! This is an awesome and very versatile recipe! I made it today for some unexpected guests, a single mother with three kids, and she was impressed with how fast and easy it was. When she tasted it she made me give her the copy of the recipe I had printed out on the spot and took it with her!

This is a great recipe! I use purple cabbage almost exclusively with this but green is great too! I addded bacon bits and bacon drippings to the pan - and white onions very thinly sliced instead of purple onions. Gramma always used the really big wide tender dutch egg noodles too. For a real treat - make the noodles from scratch! This dish is a meal in itself with a bit of bread and butter or with sausages on the side.

I remember my gramma making this on cold winter days. She liked to use purple cabbage too. I fix it like she does - using some bacn drippings in with the oil - or replacing the oil. You can cut down on the vinegar and the sugar to taste if you are afraid it will be too sour or sweet. If you are used to Pennsylvania Dutch food though - it will be perfect as written! I can eat it as a meal by itself with some crusty bread slathered in butter.

This was an OK cookie. Not really very chocolatey and a bit dry. The powdered sugar was a nice touch - added a bit of sweetness - but I found it to be dry and not too impressive. My family didn't really like them either. They gobbled up the other cookies first and these were left in the dish for quite a while.

Light and fluffy - the kids loved them!

Very quick and easy - and tasty! My 5 year old was the only one who didnt like it - but it was his first taste of cornbread - and he was expecting cake! LOL!

Great basic waffle recipe. I added some vanilla and fruit - the kids loved them - nice and fluffy!

I wasn't brave enough to try the coconut - I made it as written! I added a bit more bananas though - I used three really large ones. I like a really fruity bread. I also added a teaspoon of vanilla and a teaspoon of cinnamon. Turned out great!
