Broccoli Blue Cheese Strata

Reviewed: May 24, 2012
As is, I rate this three stars,, but it does have potential..I added crumbled blue cheese to it,.. It needs more egg and more seasoning.. and the blue cheese taste wasn't even very strong with my addition of blue cheese crumbles. Update - I had leftovers of this a day later and I must say it tasted much better.the need to more eggs was less evident and the seasonigns had melded.. so I am upping the rating to 4 from 3

Really yummy. I used homemade chorizo, reduced fat mexican cheese and egg whites. Added a few red pepper flakes to compensate for not having pepperjack

Surprise Cookies

Reviewed: May 13, 2012
These are delicious. I make a cookie that has no sugar in the actual cookie, like this one and when rolling it out, I roll it in sugar. I tried rolling this in flour and then rolling some in sugar. I liked the ones rolled in sugar better. That was my only change. These are flaky and have almost a pie crust feeling to them

Lemonia Cookies

Reviewed: May 6, 2012
This is a nice cookie. I used orange since I didn't have lemon and crisco. I made half of the batch with ground up walnuts I wanted to use up. I liked the ones with the walnuts best I think., but they were both tasty

This was a good start. Next time I'll add a bit more egg/milk and add bacon or some other meat to the pudding itself

Homemade Deviled Ham Spread

Reviewed: May 5, 2012
This was so good. When I was a kid, deviled ham and cream cheese was my very favorite sandwich. The canned stuff is just awful, nutritionally so I made due with good memories. When I found this recipe, I knew I had to try it. I used fat free mayo, a very lean ham and left out the carway seed. I toosed it all into the food processor. I made a sandwich with this and fat free cream cheese... and it was wonderful!

Black Pepper Rings

Reviewed: Apr. 30, 2012
Tasty. I ended up using about 8 cups of flour.. another 1 .5 cups before kneading and then about another .5 cups when rolling out the strips. I topped with more coarse salt and pepper. I liked the texture of the outside..The inside is very much like a biscuit. I was expecting a different texture, but it's good. I liked this dipped in seasoned olive oil. I made 22 of these instead of 12.. they came out about the size of a bagel. Bake about 22 minutes @450

This was delicious.. I cut back on the sugar and that was the right thing to do. Added garlic because I always do. I had some enoki and wood ear mushrooms so I used them in this. Couldn't find rice noodles, so I used Udon.

Blue Mushroom Omelet

Reviewed: Apr. 28, 2012
Yum.. very tasty. Been a while since I had real blue cheese and I forgot how strong it is... in a good way though. The only thing I will add next time is some meat.. ham sausage.. etc. I like meat in my omletes. I used a mixed blend of mexican cheese instead of mozz as I had that in fridge
