Smoky Black Bean Burgers

Reviewed: Aug. 27, 2012
Tasty, but I discovered I don't think I really care for liquid smoke. For me next time I make these I'll leave it out and add some other seasonings. They were very quick to put together. I made 3 patties instead of 4 because they seemed kind of small

Sweet Potato Rosti

Reviewed: Aug. 26, 2012
Delicious. I love sweet potatoes but not the sugary sort. This was wonderful. Only change for me next time will be a splash of tabasco in the rosti

Herb Cheese Pretzels

Reviewed: Aug. 26, 2012
when i tried these last nite when they were warm, i didnt care for the texture,, seemed floury. i put them in the fridge overnight and they are much better this morning. I liked them cold and will try them at room temp next. Don't expect them to taste like regular pretzels, because they don't. They are closer to a cookie in texture. The do smell wonderful baking and the herb flavor is very nice

Avocado Energy Booster

Reviewed: Aug. 25, 2012
I changed the proportions of things in this because 2 cups of protein powder would have made a sludge. I was guessing the recipe really meant 2 SCOOPS. I think this has way too much sweet stuff... I added half the maple syrup and it was sweet enough.. thinned it out with unsweetened almond milk instead of sweetened condensed. I did really love the flavor of the avocado in this.. never tried it in a smoothie before

Turkey Pumpkin Enchiladas

Reviewed: Aug. 17, 2012
This was so good. I added some fresh spinach to the filling and left out the boullion. The only change I'd make next time would be the beans. The filling was very soft and I'd prefer a bit of texture, so I'll use a can of whole black beans and smash up half of them, leaving some of them whole

Simple Sausage Strata

Reviewed: Aug. 14, 2012
Nice base recipe. I used homemadechorizo in this and added some spinach. I added a bit more milk and egg to compensate for the veggie addition. I think it needed a bit more pepper and some salt. I also used a Mexican cheese blend I had in fridge

French Veggie Loaf

Reviewed: Aug. 13, 2012
This is tasty. I used some red onion instead of a shallot and had a little mexican blend cheese i used as well as a couple of wedges of laughing cow swiss cheese. I completely forgot to salt and pepper the veggie mixture and yes it needed it. Still good w/o it but next time I'll remember

Ricotta Mochachino

Reviewed: Aug. 11, 2012
This wasn't sweet enough or chocolately enough for my tastes so I added some sugar free chocolate syrup. The ricotta also did not blend up very well for me. I make a simlar drink with cottage cheese that seems to do fine in my blender so I don't think I'll use ricotta in a drink again.

Chicken Tartar Burger

Reviewed: Aug. 7, 2012
This was yummy. The burger has a softer more meatloaf texture due to the addition of the crumbs (I used panko), so you do need to toast the bun to get some crunch in this. The peppers and cilantro in the burger tasted good as well as were very pretty.

Honey Garlic Carrots

Reviewed: Aug. 7, 2012
As this recipe is, I don't think it is for me. The honey and the sweetness of the carrots for me was very sweet. I added some Cajun seasoning to it to counter balance the sweetness and then I did like it

Puffed-Up Zucchini

Reviewed: Aug. 7, 2012
This was tasty. I did reduce the onion because just looking at the recipe I could tell it would be too much for me. I used butter flavored seasoning, a mixture of summer squash, a whole egg and had some leftover cheese crackers that I used on top
