Poor Man's Hamburger Steaks

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2011
This was yummy! I added an egg to the ground beef mixture to help hold it together, and browned both sides a little bit in the frying pan to get rid of some of the grease...cut up an onion and added it to the mixture before putting it in the oven...it ended up having to cook for about an hour and a half before the onion cooked all the way. Turned out great, the "gravy" was delicious when served over rice, served corn and green beans on the side. Thanks!

Slow Cooker Beef Stroganoff I

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2011
Pretty good. I like easy recipes with minimal ingredients (and like it or not ya'll, campbell's cream of whatever soups save our butts and taste good doing it), ESPECIALLY crock pot recipes, afterall who wants to come home after working 8 hours and slave over the stove for an hour? My stroganoff smelled wonderful when I walked in the house, tasted almost as good. I seasoned it with tons of seasoned salt and garlic powder and even more ground pepper, and added a can of mushrooms. Cream cheese was an EXCELLENT sub for sour cream (granted, I'm not a big sour cream fan anyway). Serve over egg noodles. I suggest this recipe as an almost weekly family dinner, wouldn't try to impress company with it though.

Mushroom Pork Chops

Reviewed: Aug. 7, 2012
I love this recipe. It produces fork-tender, totally delicious pork chops every time, and I absolutely adore mushrooms. I love it with rice or mashed potatoes. My BF doesn't care much for it, but he's weird. I think he just doesn't like recipes with cream of mushroom soup...total bummer, because I love cream of mushroom soup with any meat. :)

Fried Potatoes

Reviewed: Aug. 7, 2012
Yum. Made this after a steak dinner a few weeks ago but forgot to leave a review! We had two leftover baked potatoes as well as a leftover grilled onion, so everything worked perfectly.! I diced everything up and sauteed it in the frying pan and had an absolutely DELICIOUS breakfast. I saw that another review suggested adding the onion in for the second half of the cooking time. My onion blackened a little bit as well when I threw it in at the same time as the taters, but I didn't mind; it gave it a great taste, and I prefer my onions very well done anyway. However, I would suggest that those who don't like their onions to be overdone to toss them in after the potatoes have started softening a bit.

No-Bake Cheesy Skillet Lasagna

Reviewed: Sep. 6, 2012
This was okay. It didn't look very appetizing -- the lack of color made it look very bland -- but I may have chopped my veggies up too small. It tasted pretty good, though, and my boyfriend and his buddy loved it. I could not find a bag of frozen red bell pepper and onions -- all of the stir fry mixes had other veggies in them too, so I substituted fresh green and red bell peppers, an onion and mushrooms by chopping them up and cooking them with the sausage; otherwise, I followed the recipe exactly. I wouldn't say that it reminded me of lasagna at all. It was more like a Hamburger Helper-style dish, but I do like Hamburger Helper on occasion. I doubt this will become a regular meal around our house, but I might make it again.

Mushroom Swiss Burgers

Reviewed: Sep. 8, 2012
Let me start by saying that these burgers were DELICIOUS! However, when I was making the beef mixture, I quickly realized that 3/4 cup of the soup would be wayyyy too much. I quickly removed the meat before I had mixed it all together, so I probably only mixed in about 1/2 a cup. They were still really moist and didn't want to hold together, but somehow they did -- I cooked them on the stove instead of the grill because I was out of charcoal, and they ended up cooking fairly well. I had some mushrooms that I needed to use up, so I sauteed them and then added the sauce and heated it all up. I spooned plenty of the sauce mix on top of the cheese, and the burgers were absolutely delicious! I would recommend only adding about 1/4 cup or so of the sauce to the beef mixture, however, and serving the rest of it on top. I will definitely make these again with this simple change. It would definitely be a four-star recipe if the measurements were adjusted.

Creamy Lemon Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 11, 2012
We really didn't care for this dish. I read the reviews and saw that others thought that the sauce was bland, so I added some seasonings. It still wasn't very good.

Saucy Meatball Hoagies

Reviewed: Sep. 17, 2012
We really enjoyed this! I added Italian seasoning, garlic powder and black pepper to the sauce for a little more flavor, and I put banana peppers on my sub. Although it wasn't really anything special, it was a wonderfully easy and surprisingly tasty Monday night meal. I will probably make this again when I am looking for something that is super easy and a bit different from what I normally cook.

Basil Chicken Ravioli Carbonara

Reviewed: Sep. 20, 2012
I thought this recipe was wonderful! I used to work at an Italian restaurant, and this recipe was very reminiscent of the Penne Carbonara dish that we sold there. I didn't add ravioli -- I simply served the sauce over penne noodles -- but the sauce was to die for! I was a bit concerned about the thickness of the sauce, but I let it simmer for a bit and then added a handful of cheese. Next time, I think I will try it with the ravioli!

Italian Chicken Sausage Stuffed Portabellas

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2012
These were really yummy! I added a bit of shredded mozarella cheese on top, but only because I like having cheese on top of my stuffed mushrooms. I will definitely make these again, but I might add some bread crumbs to the cream cheese for a different texture. The al fresco Italian chicken sausage was delicious, by the way!

Crescent Dogs

I actually cheated and used "Little Smokies" because I'm not a big fan of hot dogs. I had no idea it was this easy to make "pigs in a blanket." Very tasty and super easy...and my boyfriend loved them, which is always a plus.

Quick and Flavorful Vegetables

I made mine with a 12oz package of frozen "steam in a bag" broccoli and one chicken-flavored Flavor Boost. Quick and easy; it turned out great, and I'll make it again on a night when I'm looking for a quick side.

Moist and Savory Stuffing

Reviewed: Nov. 22, 2012
Yum! My stuffing turned out perfectly. I did switch things up by adding a pan of crumbled cornbread and extra broth, and I baked it for about 35 mins instead of just making it on the stove. It was a great stuffing for Thanksgiving, and I would surely make it exactly as the recipe states if I were looking for a quick weekday side.

Campbell's® Green Bean Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 22, 2012
Perfect! I did eyeball the milk a little because I didn't want it to be too soupy. I went with about half a cup, and it turned out perfectly. I think it may have been a bit too much if I would have added as much milk as the recipe states, so that's why I'm giving this recipe four stars instead of five. Nothing gourmet, but a very satisfying traditional green bean casserole.

Perfect potatoes! I liked the addition of chicken broth. I've heard of doing it that way before, but I've never tried it myself. I'm sure I will try it again that way again in the future.
