About this Cook
I've been cooking since I've been married which is since 1989. I LOVE TO TRY NEW RECIPES! I also love to have dinner parties with family and friends! Creating new recipes is something I also enjoy! I have many of my recipe creations listed in my recipe box. I also love to photograph and review every recipe I try from this site! Its become one of my favorite things to do...aside from reading recipes and looking at other members food photos! Update 1/25/12 Come visit my new blog at...http://myrecipejourney-lillian.blogspot.com/
My favorite things to cook
Since discovering this site, I've tried soooo many different things! I love Asian cooking, Middle Eastern food and I recently discovered Filipino cuisine. My other favorites are Mexican and Italian of course! =)
My favorite family cooking traditions
I'm Italian so I make the basics (always from scratch) like meatballs, manicotti, picatta, alfredo, etc.
My cooking triumphs
OH! Way too many to list of course! ;)
My cooking tragedies
OH! Way to many of these also!

Balsamic Roasted Pork Loin
This was very tasty! Nice strong flavors from the steak seasoning with a slight tang from the balsamic vinegar. I used 1 packet of 'McCormick Grill Mates Montreal Steak seasoning' and marinated for 12 hours. And I used boneless pork chops instead of a whole pork loin. I thickened the sauce by making a slurry using 2 Tbls. dry red wine with 2 Tbls. cornstarch. It worked perfectly and I think it needed it. The red wine complemented the sauce perfectly. I think I'll try this recipe with chicken cutlets next time! A great easy recipe!

Apple and Feta Pan Fried Pizzas
I loved this! All the flavors work so well together...from the sharpness of the red onions to the salty feta with the sweet apples and herby thyme ontop of the hearty fried dough! I made it as written except I added 1 tsp. of sugar to apples as I sauteed them. And I used store bought pizza dough. Frying the dough is a must because it gives a totally different flavor to the dough. This is a nice light lunch or snack.

Merry Mango Sauza(R)-Rita
This was very good! I made it as written using equal parts fresh lemon juice, water and sugar for the sour mix. I chilled the cocktail in the freezer for about an hour, then poured it over ice! All the flavors blend well together. This drink is not too strong! I don't think you can go wrong with Sauza! Very refreshing!
