About this Cook
I love to bake and cook. Being in the kitchen allows me a creative outlet. Some ask me, Why do you like to cook? I answer, Because I don't have to. Truly I mean I am in no way pressured to cook a super meal every night. No children and DH is so sweet he wouldn't care if we had box mac & chz and burgers.
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake. Also cooking things that smell scrumptious in the oven all day long. Nothing like my husband coming home to the wonderful enticing smells from my kitchen.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Every Thursday night our beloved friends/family come to our house to play cards. This is a great opportunity to show off some of my better cooking skills.
My cooking triumphs
I believe most of my triumphs in the kitchen are due to this rule.. 1) Never try a recipe for the very first time when you are expecting company.
My cooking tragedies
I can't remember a cooking tragedy really. Typical things have happened like burning something or dropping something. I suppose my most despised mishap is when I make a mess of the oven and have to clean it. lol One of the worst things, I believe, I have done to my guests is send them home with my "famous" Oreo Fudge that is their most requested. No one ate the fudge at the picnic due to being overstuffed. I cut it and packed it all up in individual containers for guests to take with. After the party during cleanup I ate a piece and realized that the fudge had absorbed serious, undeniable onion flavor from the overabundance of picnic salads in the fridge with it overnight! I was quickly making apologetic phone calls to my beloveds. I also wrap things a lot better now. Geeze.

Honey Bun Cake
This cake is easy to make. I used a white cake mix. It was better fresh than it was the next day.

Turkey Ranch Wraps
These are great. I used fresh wild turkey, fried, that my DH was lucky enough to get during this Spring hunting season. I added red onion and bacon. Used grated white cheddar cheese. Omitted the green pepper strips. Very versatile recipe and an awesome lunch.

Coconut Macaroon Brownies
I followed this recipe exactly. The brownie is cake like. The batter is thick so a bit difficult to spread. I prefer more fudge like brownies so next time I will use Hershey's Best Brownie recipe. The filling is great. I bet brownie frosting on top would be criminal. Great recipe.
