Mushrooms with a Soy Sauce Glaze
This recipe was easy and fabulous!!! The only change I made to it was to saute about 1/3 of a chopped Vidalia onion in the pan with the butter before adding the mushrooms. My husband couldn't get enough of these to eat with our steaks and sweet potatoes for dinner! Will make again. Took so little time to whip this up, this recipe is sure to be in heavy rotation in this household!

Barbecued Shrimp
Restaurant worthy recipe here, folks!! And, for God's sake, DON'T think you put these on the grill or burn the butter brown and blame the recipe. This LA dish IS what it IS. Just make it and have faith! I made this recipe tonight as written, but cut it in half for our smaller serving size. My family LOVED it. Very authentic NOLA style BBQ shrimp. I'll def make it again, but I will change a few things. ...And this is totally nitpicking, bc we loved it. 1. Use half the amount of lemons called for. The lemon used was a tad much for our taste. 2. Add a little more hot sauce. I'm pretty wimpy when it comes to hot sauce and this dish SHOULD make your lips tingle a little when you're done. ...Just a smidge more would have accomplished that. 3. Serve the shrimp and sauce on top of/or just next to crusty, toasted, buttered bread like they do in NOLA. It sops up the sauce! ...And, believe me, you'll want to eat ALL the sauce! This dish is AMAZING!

Colonial Hot Buttered Rum
This recipe MADE my party! Everyone loved it.(Esp. the men for some reason!) I added a bit of apple cider in the amount of the water that was called for. To keep it manageable for the night, I bought a hot beverage "pump" coffee urn from Sam's, filled it up with the prepared hot buttered part and then added the rum right into the container. It was like heaven in a glass and stayed hot all evening that way!! I will make this for every holiday party I have now. Heck, I might just have a party so I can make it again! lol
