Sweet and Sassy Popcorn

Reviewed: Jul. 24, 2014
I cut the recipe in half, cutting the ingredients down to a fourth would be better. The popcorn was very sticky and the heat was not what I was expecting.

Cream Cheese Shortbread

Reviewed: Jul. 13, 2014
I had trouble with the dough being too sticky even though I tried to use a small amount of the milk. I tried refrigerating the dough. I ended up rolling the dough between two sheets of waxed paper sprinkled with powdered sugar. When I baked the shortbread, even though I used parchment paper the bottom was very brown. After tasting the shortbread, it was like a biscuit.

Reviewed: Jun. 25, 2014
My family liked the salmon. I think the yogurt added a lot of flavor to the salmon as well as the lemon.

Chocolate Chip Cookie Layer Cake

Reviewed: Apr. 30, 2014
My Husband loved this very rich chocolate cookie cake. I used 3 nine inch cake pans, added parchment paper, then sprayed the pans. It was very easy to remove the cookie layers. After adding some frosting to the two layers, I still had some frosting left over.

Ken's Perfect Hard Boiled Egg (And I Mean Perfect)

Reviewed: Apr. 22, 2014
An excellent recipe. The eggs were very easy to peel. I live at high altitude and the large eggs were perfect at 14-15 minutes. I checked one at 14 minutes and it wasn't quite done. So, I cooked the rest of the eggs for 15 minutes. The yolks were a beautiful yellow.

Hershey's ® 'Perfectly Chocolate' Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Apr. 13, 2014
My family loves this moist cake. I made this cake with buttermilk and dark cocoa. I used a bundt pan. Since I live at high altitude I had to make a few changes. I added an extra egg, adjusted the oil by using 1/3 cup. This was wonderful! See my personal recipe--http://allrecipes.com/personalrecipe/64029545/high-altitude-perfectly-chocolate-chocolate-bundt-cake/detail.aspx

Amazing Muffin Cups

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2014
My husband loves breakfast sausage, so I wasn't surprised when my husband said, "I like these eggs, much better than scrambled eggs." I love the combination of eggs, sausage and cheese which made for a very flavorful breakfast. What is great about these egg muffins is that I didn't have to make breakfast the next day.

Cheese and Bacon Potato Rounds

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2014
My family loves these potatoes. I have made these several times as an appetizer and as a side dish. I like using red potatoes and just for a change I used 2 links of Johnsonville Hot Italian Sausage instead of bacon. I served the potato rounds with ranch dressing. Yummy and of course no leftovers.

Sweet and Spicy Salmon with Grapefruit Salsa

Reviewed: Mar. 16, 2014
The salmon was very tasty. We enjoyed the spicy rub and will probably make the rub again. Since my family likes spicy food, I would add some chipolte chile powder. I used blood oranges instead of grapefruit for the salsa. My husband was skeptical of the salsa with the salmon, but it was a wonderful addition to the fish.

Pork Carnitas with Cilantro Tomatillo Sauce

Reviewed: Mar. 2, 2014
My family loved the tender pork. I live at high altitude and the meat did take longer to cook then stated in the directions. I used 2 pounds of pork shoulder and removed the fat. I found some chipolte powder online and use it in a lot of Mexican dishes. My family loves carnitas with flour tortillas, so I prepared my own flour tortillas recipe and it was great. The tomatillo sauce was very mild, so my husband added onion, jalapeno peppers, garlic salt, and lime juice to give it a kick.

A Homemade San Francisco Treat: Chicken Vermicelli Rice

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2014
Excellent rice dish! Shorecook, I never buy the Rice a Roni because it has soy in it. My family loves rice and this was a keeper. My son had two heaping servings and my husband remarked the rice was really good.

Crunchy Oven Fried Tilapia

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2014
My family loved this recipe. I followed the advice of others by drizzling the olive oil and using foil for easy clean up. I had large pieces of tilapia and baked the fish for around 10 minutes and then I browned the fish under the broiler for 2-3 minutes. I had to watch it closely so that the fish didn't burn. I will add more spices next time because my family loves more seasoning. I didn't have regular bread crumbs, so I used panko bread crumbs.

We loved this marinade. I am sensitive to soy, so I left out the soy sauce. It still had a very good flavor.

Sarah's Rice Pilaf

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2014
My family loved this recipe. I liked it because it doesn't have soy in it like Rice a Roni. The rice took only 15 minutes to cook. I would suggest watching it so it doesn't start sticking to the pot. I did add some parsley and used garlic powder because my daughter is expecting a baby and garlic cloves give her heartburn.

Apple Pie Filling

Reviewed: Feb. 10, 2014
This was an excellent recipe. I did follow the suggestions of other people who reviewed this recipe. I used 1/2 of the water, increased the cinnamon and added nutmeg. The pie filling came out perfect. It was the first time freezing any type of fruit filling. Next Fall, I will get a bushel of apples and make some pie filling to have for the whole year.
