Lemon Earthquake Cake I

Reviewed: Sep. 17, 2011
Used lemon cake and almonds. Delicious and can use whatever you have on hand. Wasn't sure it was done but it was, the icing sugar turns into a glaze making it appear raw. Thanks

Lemon Cream Puffs

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2011
A huge hit even though I thought I had overcooked one batch of puffs and undercooked the other. The overcooked batch softened up once the amazing cream was added and I put the undercooked ones back in the oven (turned off) after taking the middle outs to help dry out. The most delicious filling that can be used for numerous things. As others, I doubled the puffs and the cream amount perfectly filled the doubled puffs.

It's nice to have an idea of what to put in and make it your own. Yummy and easy.

Sweet Dinner Rolls

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2010
This is always my contribution to family dinners now. They are delicious and so easy. I don't do the extra layer of butter but just roll the dough into a log after taking out of machine. I use a dough cutter to cut dough evenly and place in pan to rise. If making for just my family I will put half in freezer on baking tray after final rise and then put in freezer bag when frozen. Put in oven frozen at 325 for 15-20 min and they taste like fresh. Also like to add minced garlic to ingredients.

Amish Macaroni Salad

Reviewed: Aug. 25, 2009
I was looking for a fast and cheap meal and came across this. I was a bit leary as we don't like macaroni salad but it had such great reviews. Mostly made it as is but added a bit of dill and garlic and reduced sugar to 1/4 cup per other reviewers. Also added 3 dill pickles for the relish. Teenager and 2 younger ones loved it. Even I was surprised to enjoy it. Thank you for this great recipe.

Delicious and so simple to make. I didn't find the cream necessary but used more than the stated amount of curry.

Banana Sour Cream Bread

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2007
The best banana bread I've ever had or made. I've tried about 15 recipes so far but I'm done now. I have found the winner. This recipe is excellent as is with the addition of nutmeg and cloves (and the guilty pleasure of chocolate chips, once in a while). I have never used a topping but tried the brown sugar/butter/flour/cinnamon topping recommended by a reviewer and I am converted. Excellent. I fell asleep with a loaf in the oven and it was still good after cooking for 2 hours. The topping carmelized and kept everything moist. Have I mentioned yet how much I love this recipe, lol?

Double Layer Pumpkin Cheesecake

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2007
So easy for such a great reward. I used extra cream cheese and pumpkin as per other reviewers and had enough to put 1 1/2 cups of the plain cheesecake on the bottom so the two layers can really be seen. Everyone raved about it.

Whipped Shortbread Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2007
These melted in the mouth alright but they also melted in the spatula and fingers. I did the extra whipping as suggested and did different baking times for 3 batches with no luck. I even made little tiny ones and they still wanted to break. Oh well, I'm sure they won't last long, but won't make again.

Lisa's Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cake

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2005
WOW! I made this last night for a friend's birthday and everyone loved it. They couldn't stop raving about it. I followed the directions exactly and dusted it with icing sugar and it looked very attractive. My friends were so impressed and thought it took alot of work but in fact was very quick and simple. Thank you Lisa. This will be made many times in the future. Absolutely delicious and soooooooo moist.

Parmesan Sesame Chicken

Reviewed: May 16, 2005
This was the second time making these and I made a few changes with excellent results. I used chicken tenders as my son likes chicken strips - the first time they were a bit soggy but this time - I turned them after 15 minutes I broiled them for 5. I used 1/3 cup bread crumbs and sesame seeds. I didn't have an egg so I mixed a couple of tablespoons milk with sesame oil to dip in before breadcrumb mixture. Yummy, will make often

Spicy Turkey Burgers

Reviewed: May 10, 2005
Yummy. So easy and very tasty. I had everything on hand. I used ground ginger(powder) and onion powder instead of diced onion as my 10 year old can pick out the smallest diced onion, lol. He loved it! They were quite soft (raw) so I grilled them on my George Forman with fantastic results in less than 10 minutes. Thanks!

Blackened Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 9, 2005
Yummy! My friend and our children loved this. My friend was busy fanning the smoke detector, lol, so I could only let the oil heat up for about 7 minutes. It blackened a bit but the taste was delicious. I also flattened the breasts a bit as suggested by others and would make them even thinner next time so they don't take so long in the oven. Thanks for sharing!

Chicken or Turkey Tetrazzini Deluxe

Reviewed: Feb. 9, 2005
I made this for a couple of friends and some children and they all loved it. I didn't add the green peppers or the water as suggested by some. The sauce thickened well but maybe next time will add about 1/3 cup water to help keep leftovers moist, not that there were too many, lol. Thanks for sharing!

Mini Meatloaves

Reviewed: Feb. 9, 2005
We found these a bit mushy so will cut down oats to 2 Tablespoons. As suggested by others, I briefly ground the oats since I only had slow cooking. It was tasty and I also added garlic, dill weed and some cajun. I prepared it in a loaf and was done in 45 minutes. Will make again, Thanks.

Melt In Your Mouth Pork Chops

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2005
My son loved this and he has never enjoyed pork chops before. I used centre loin chops and I still found it a bit tough but my son had no complaints. I will definitely make again but use less soy and teriyaki sauce.

Sesame Green Beans

Reviewed: Jul. 29, 2004
I loved this recipe. I was wondering though how to keep the sesame seeds from flying out of the pan. Whenever, I add the beans the sesame seeds start popping out of the pan. I would love some tips on this. Thanks!
