Oatmeal Date Cookies

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2014
I have made this three times- turns out amazing every time. I add more dates and use Pecans because i have a lot on hand. Also I use one cup of Large flake oatmeal and one cup of quick oats as well as cinnamon and cloves but this recipe is definitely a keeper!! (I also get 5 dozen using my small cookie scoop.)

Creamy Cinnamon Rice Pudding

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2014
Finally, a rice pudding recipe that explains how to temper the eggs, everyone should know how to do this when making rice pudding!! Great recipe!

Peanut Butter Bars I

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2013
I made these with 'Wow Butter' since my son is allergic to peanuts but still loves the taste. They turned out fabulous and I use 1 1/2 sticks of butter. I'm making them again tonight!

Cowboy Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2013
I didn't want to fiddle around with oil and margarine so I made these with 1 cup of real butter (that was half melted purely by accident in the microwave), I also added a tsp. of cinnamon and 1/2 tsp of cloves and use chocolate chips instead of butterscotch since it was all I had on hand. These were amazing and did not last long!! I'm making a second batch today!

Quick Asian Beef Noodle Soup

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2012
This recipe was a Good start but I had to add an additional teaspoon of ginger and a tablespoon of brown sugar to get a some real flavor other than just salt. I also used beef boullion and rice noodles instead of ramen noodles and their soup packets (rice noodles are much lower in fat). I also loaded up with different veggies. This is a great basic recipe though!

Zucchini Brownies

Reviewed: Jun. 17, 2012
Not sure about this one, I followed the recipe to the letter. It came out of the oven on the dry side, crispy around the edges (nothing a generous application of ice cream and chocolate sauce couldn't remedy). The next morning however it was much more moist and cake like- still not great however. This is definitely not a brownie I'll make again.

Soft Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Mar. 25, 2012
I added boiled raisins and it really made a difference in the 'moistness' of these cookies. I have made these a few times now and never chill or flatten them, i add cinnamon and cardamom as well. Everyone loves this recipe! Will definitely make this one again!

Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2012
Have made this soup a couple times and it is by far the best ham and potato soup I've ever made. Comes out perfect every time. I get rave reviews and many requests for the recipe. I add a little bit of diced green pepper and that is the ONLY item I changed from the recipe. Fabulous!

Juicy Roasted Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2012
Sometimes 'less is more' and with this recipe that certainly is true. It's the only way I'll roast my chicken now, and the gravy made with the drippings is always awesome!

Boilermaker Tailgate Chili

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2011
Hubby made this for Greycup festivities- the only change he made was that we used 2 cans o black beans instead of 'chili beans' and he threw in an entire lb of bacon (precooked and drained!)... it was fabulous!! I can't wait until he makes it again! warning, that cayenne pepper heat keeps building in the left overs in the fridge so after a couple days it's a lot spicier than when it's fresh! So good.

Cheesy Baked Cauliflower

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2011
Made this tonight, and it was simply delicious. Followed the other reviewers lead and only steamed the cauliflower for 10 minutes, which was perfect.

Mary Wynne's Crabapple Jelly

Reviewed: Sep. 18, 2011
Used this recipe for my first time ever making jelly and it came out perfectly with my neighbors back yard crabapples (small, hard, red fleshed type). Just like the jelly my mom used to make! I also chose this recipe because my daughter's middle name is Mary Winn LOL! Thanks!

Recently had this dish at a wedding so I came home and searched out this recipe. It was SUPER tasty and complimented the wiener schnitzel I made really well. I received MANY compliments!

Catherine's Spicy Chicken Soup

Reviewed: Jun. 19, 2011
Fabulous recipe- halved the recipe and still had PLENTY of left overs. Great way to use my leftover rotisserie chicken! I did like a previous reviewer recommended and left out the can of whole tomatoes and it was more than enough! Thanks for this GEM!

Mushroom Pork Tenderloin

Reviewed: Jun. 18, 2011
Just finished preparing this dish as the recipe calls for and it is terribly Bland. I've added vegetable stock to the gravy and seasoning salt to the meat... not so great. Not sure what other folks are tasting here.

Chinese Pork Chops

Reviewed: Mar. 4, 2011
Followed this recipe to the letter and it resulted in tough tasteless pork chops. Afterward, Liberal application of ginger, salt and sweet thai chili sauce still had a hard time redeeming this mess. Not sure what the previous reviewers were tasting that I wasn't...

Turkey Tetrazzini

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2011
Okay this was a great recipe and though I made some revisions due to lack of ingredients last minute, it was wonderful! I used a can of cheddar cheese soup (with one can of milk) instead of the home made sauce (as a previous reviewer mentioned) and I didn't have any pimentos so I threw in a 1/4 C of salsa for some flavour. Also I only needed to use ONE package of pasta and it was almost too much. Even with my changes the recipe was fabulous and my picky kids were fighting over the left overs!

Blonde Brownies I

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2010
Doubled the batch for a bake sale- turned out absolutely awesome. I left out the soda and replaced with baking powder because I hate the taste of baking soda in anything. I also mixed the chips and nuts into the batter as someone suggested and they were the best brownies I have ever made- hands down.
