Slow Cooker Boneless Turkey Breast

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2014
I used this recipe with two turkey thighs and a small breast. It was delicious!! Guests were picking at it before it was even served. The only thing that I would change next time is the amount of salt. I would reduce the salt by a 1/2 or a full TBSP because the gravy that I made from the cooking juices was very salty. I also shoved TBSP slices of butter under the skin to help baste from the top down.

Sam's Famous Carrot Cake

Reviewed: Apr. 14, 2012
I omitted the walnuts because I'm not a fan of walnuts, but this is delicious!! Since I didn't have an 8x12" pan, I used a muffin pan. Turned out beautifully! Will definitely use this recipe again.

Split Pea and Ham Soup I

Reviewed: May 2, 2011
I've yet to try the original recipe, but I didn't make that many adjustments when I made it. I added two diced carrots, next time, I'll add three. I used four small cubes chicken boullion when I added the water (a cube per cup). I also added a couple of dashes of celery salt. I'll definitely make it again though. It was great with some buttered french bread.

Guy Approved Meatloaf

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2010
Would have had 5 if it weren't for the saltiness...and I like salty. Because of the potato chips and the crackers, not to mention whatever is in the BBQ sauce AND the bacon, there's PLENTY of salt. Saltiness aside, it was delicious. It had my boyfriend's eyes rolling to the back of his head in pure mouth pleasure. =)

Busy Day Barbeque Brisket

Reviewed: Dec. 6, 2010
I followed the recipe to a T. Cook time on low: 9.5 hours. Recipe has potential. Next time, I'm going to cut down on the salt and reduce cook time to maybe 7 hrs. At 9.5, it was way too well done and dry. I was disappointed, but partly because the 3# of brisket cost $14. Also will add either 1/4 or 1/2 c. brown sugar to complement the savory.

Slow Cooker Chicken Stroganoff

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2010
The flavor was there, but it was WICKED salty. Like really, really salty. Edible, but too salty. Next time, I'm definitely going to use low-sodium soup and probably the low-fat cream cheese. Saltiness aside, the flavor was good and the chicken was really tender and moist. Will try again.

Pork Tenderloin in Mustard Marinade with Cherry Compote

Reviewed: May 24, 2010
This recipe is absolutely delicious. I followed it to a t and it turned out great! The sweetness of the compote with the savory of the pork was the best thing I've made in a really long time. I broiled my 1/2" chops for 4 mins on each side and served it with cranberry stove top stuffing...yum. Will definitely make again.

Made this for our staff party. Phenomenal with rum or vodka for an extra kick. Phenomenal as non-alcoholic punch.

Normally, I don't like dry cookies. I like mine on the chewier side, but these were fantastic! I couldn't quite figure out how to put the "thumbprint" in the dough without cracking the edge around it. (If anyone has any hints, they would be appreciated as I'm not a baker.) But they tasted soooooo good and melted in my mouth. Will make again, if I can figure out how to thumbprint without cracking the dough. =)

Easy Chocolate Covered Coconut Macaroons

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2008
The macaroons turned out to be very tasty. It was the chocolate on the top that really made these excellent. The only things I didn't like about them was the uber-stickiness of the "batter" because of the condensed milk (total pain to put on the cookie sheet to bake) and they were a little too chewy when they were done. Then again, that may have been my fault. I really don't know. But it's a good recipe to try out.
