Traditional Mexican Guacamole

Reviewed: May 5, 2015
We really enjoyed this! I think next time I will use lime juice (instead of lemon juice) and minced garlic. I'll also add a second jalapeno. Great recipe! Thank you!

Mexican-Style Fajitas

Reviewed: May 5, 2015
I was hopeful. Used a really nice beer to marinate the meat in. We really enjoy more spice! It was a great base, but we found we wanted sour cream, guacamole, and taco sauce. I also thought it was weird that the veggies were in with raw meat, but the recipe doesn't instruct to cook them! I did!

Healthy Fish Tacos with Mango Salsa

Reviewed: May 5, 2015
We loved these tacos! I used soft tacos and made the shells star burst shaped before I put them in the oven draped over on the racks. This created a stand-up hard taco with a fun shape. I then used the cut-outs for cinnamon and sugar chips for dessert! I added garlic to the seasoning for the fish, and used cod (as this is what I had). The result was a fantastic dinner. We really enjoyed the mango salsa and will be eating any left overs with nachos! I will for sure make this again!

NO YOLKS® Beef Goulash

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2015
It needs WAY more seasoning. The sour cream was the most flavorful component of the dish. Too many carrots. Could have used a heap of garlic. Add more seasoning to the flour mixture before coating (garlic and Italian seasoning, perhaps?). Heading in the right direction, but not quite there.

NO YOLKS® Luscious Kugel

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2015
I added vanilla and extra cinnamon, the flavor of the bottom portion was good. The noodles sticking out the top were hard. Maybe covering with foil would have helped? Special K on top didn't really add anything for us. Good idea, not quite there.

Absinthe Frappe Cocktail

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2015
My husband and I made several absinthe drinks and this was by far his favorite. For sure a black licorice lovers dream. The crushed ice really brings out the absinthe cloud/aroma. A great drink/combination. Thank you!

Drinkable! Interesting combination. I'll make again for someone who isn't a huge fan of the absinthe flavor! Thank you!

Bohemian-Style Absinthe Cocktail

My husband and I tried absinthe for the first time this way, and fell in love! If it's your first time experiencing absinthe, try it this way first! Lots of fun too!

Very odd combination. Wasn't a huge fan. I don't know what could have changed to make it better!

Best Ever Cowboy Caviar

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2015
Had to do a special shopping trip for this one and learned about a few new types of corn and beans (I had almost NONE of this in stock), but it was worth it. I've bought something very similar premade before, but this beats it hands down. I could sit down and make a meal out of this! Yum! Great recipe!

Paleo-Pancakes

Three ingredients! Squeeze an orange slice on it and WOW. These were REALLY good! I didn't have arrowroot powder on hand, so I used tapioca starch. The result was a great breakfast! Another keeper. All three of us liked it!

Simple Slow-Cooked Korean Beef Soft Tacos

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2015
My family LOVED this roast. I made it just as written. (Except MAYBE added some extra garlic!) We ate it plain, ate it with pico and cheese on a soft taco shell, AND we had left overs so I made a pizza! BBQ sauce, pineapple, red onion, tomatoes and three kinds of cheese. AMAZING. None of this roast went to waste. For sure a keeper.

Honey Maid Holiday Cheesecake Presents

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2014
These were so simple to make! I wish I would have read the tips on wetting the knife with warm water before cutting into them. Mine were a lot sloppier than I had hoped! My husband loved them and they will work great at our holiday party. Thank you Honey Maid!

I used Reynolds Wrap Heavy Duty Aluminum Foil and was able to grill these pizzas right on my barbeque! No dishes to clean up after! This was my first time grilling pizza, and I LOVED the smokey flavor it brought to it! Any season you will find us outside with the barbeque!

Applesauce Energy Bars

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2014
These reminded me of oatmeal squares more than a crunchy texture. (Which was what it looked like in the photo.) I even cut the applesauce by half and didn't get even a little bit crunchy. I THINK this would be a crunchier texture if I used regular, instead of quick cooking, oats. Toddler wasn't impressed, husband loved them, I was just okay with them. Overall, not the biggest hit in our family.

Would love to have had more spice! I'll probably add cinnamon and nutmeg next time. However, delicious! Picky toddler even appreciated it!

Chocolate Crepe Cake with Salted Chocolate Orange Sauce

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2014
This was a lot of work, but oh so worth it! If you want less work, don't worry about making a cake, just makes your crepes, top with whip cream and chocolate sauce, and roll it! The Salted Chocolate Orange Sauce stole the show! I put my extra in a jar and kept it in the fridge. Delicious when used to make cocoa and as a cake filling!

Salt and Pepper Ribeye Steak

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2014
OH MY GOSH. I thought this was going to be a boring steak, however, it was in fact the best steak I've ever eaten. So moist, flavorful. Sometimes simpler really is better. I let the steaks bring for 2-3 days. I will do this again. My husband and my new favorite way of making steaks!
