Hoagie Bake

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2006
I did everything as the recipe said only I added a layer of mustard on the bottom and added olives and peppercini's along with switching out the swiss cheese for havarti and sprinkled oregano and garlic over the cheese. Husband liked this a lot and didn't have any suggestions to improve it. He is extremely picky and it is rare that he gives something a 5 star. I will definitely make this again and use different variations of it.

Cajun Barbecued Chicken

Reviewed: Jun. 22, 2004
This is an excellent marinade that has been used countless times for our family gatherings. I am an avid cook along with Janie and her daughter in law so you might think I am a little biased but I would have given it 5 stars regardless.

Green Beans with Bread Crumbs

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2004
This was very good, one trick I learned from my father in law was to use ritz crackers instead of breadcrumbs and salt. You just smash the crackers down add italian seasoning with a little bit of butter to soften the crackers. This recipe looked very fancy and was very good. I will be serving this again.

Oven Roasted Red Potatoes

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2004
This was one of the most easiest recipes I have ever made. It was one of the best tasting potato recipes I have ever used. The only down side is it takes 40 minutes in the oven but if you plan ahead and are already roasting or cooking in the oven it is pefect and will finish at the same time. I will be serving this again very soon.

Baked Brie with Mushrooms and Almonds

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2004
This recipe was very good and was easy to make. The only reason why I gave this 3 stars is because I probably would want to try cooking something else before I did this recipe again. But if you are a cheese fan you really can't go wrong with this.

Beef Tenderloin With Roasted Shallots

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2004
I made this for my boss who we invited over for dinner. Although there are many different steps it was so easy and very impressive to the guests. The taste was fantastic! I followed the recommendation of cooking the broth and roasting the shallots the night before and another thing that the recipe doesn't mention is that you should tie up your tenderloin so that it cooks evenly. This will definitely be put in my recipe classics and I will be serving this again soon.

This was quick but very heavy I can see where kids might like this but didn't go over well with the adults.

Awesome Broccoli-Cheese Casserole

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2003
I have made this recipe so many times but I add cooked chicken and make it a casserole. Some people are intimidated by the mayo but you must include it! This can also be frozen and heated in the oven in no time. This is also great with extra cheese layered thru it.

Turkey Tortilla Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2003
I tried this recipe with my leftover Christmas Turkey. Everyone fell in love with this soup even those who don't care for spicy foods! I had so many requests that I had to make it again for New Years Eve. This recipe will definitely be added to my families Holiday Favorites cookbook.
