My first turkey was perfect. Won first place in chili contest beating out the reigning champ of 12 years. Cooking a perfect beef tenderloin on my first try and being brave enough to serve it to my boss for dinner.
My cooking tragedies
Too much salt in a breakfast quiche. I had a feeling the recipe called for too much but as they say live and learn.

Hoagie Bake
I did everything as the recipe said only I added a layer of mustard on the bottom and added olives and peppercini's along with switching out the swiss cheese for havarti and sprinkled oregano and garlic over the cheese. Husband liked this a lot and didn't have any suggestions to improve it. He is extremely picky and it is rare that he gives something a 5 star. I will definitely make this again and use different variations of it.

Cajun Barbecued Chicken
This is an excellent marinade that has been used countless times for our family gatherings. I am an avid cook along with Janie and her daughter in law so you might think I am a little biased but I would have given it 5 stars regardless.

Green Beans with Bread Crumbs
This was very good, one trick I learned from my father in law was to use ritz crackers instead of breadcrumbs and salt. You just smash the crackers down add italian seasoning with a little bit of butter to soften the crackers. This recipe looked very fancy and was very good. I will be serving this again.
