Taco Seasoning I

This is the only taco seasoning I use now. I adjust the spiciness of it with extra or hotter chili powder/cayenne.

Coconut-Curry Lentil Stew Served over Quinoa

I thought it had great flavors and was an easy way for me to use up my red lentils and newly bought coconut oil! I will definitely be making this again, but with a couple changes. I like my gravy dishes to be more liquidy, so I will only add a cup of lentils to maintain the flavor ratio without adding more tomatoes. Chicken broth was substituted instead of water and I added a TBSP of butter for silkiness. I think I will try making it with sliced chicken in the future too.

Baked Scallops

So I followed the recipe exactly because that's how I believe recipes should be rated. It was pretty good, but not amazing. I think it becomes amazing when you make the changes that are listed in the other reviewer's comments. It's a recipe that should definitely be tried!

Cheesy Polenta

I only gave this 4 stars because I followed the other reviewers' advice and used 2 cups of chicken broth instead of water. Otherwise, the recipe is amazing.

Irish Cream Chocolate Cheesecake

So I made this cake for the bf and it was my first real cheesecake. Even though I don't care for cheesecake, the taste was very good and he loved it!. Also found out what a springform pan was AFTER I made the cake in a regular pie dish (oops) and will use one the next time I make this! The only problem I had with it was the top looking...overcooked? It formed a nice skin, but it was too dark around the edges. I don't know why that happened, but maybe it'll turn out different in a springform pan? We will see!

Smoked Salmon Pasta with Scotch

I would give this 4.5 stars, but I'm just going to round up to 5 :p This is VERY good being as I'm eating it right now. I think it needs a LITTLE something, but I'm not quite sure what it is. A tad bit of garlic salt? Either way, it is freaking amazing as is. Very good recipe!

Deer Chop Hurry

This was great! The only problem I had with it was cooking it in the oven for an hour. I did this, and the meat was over cooked and turned dry, even in the liquid. If I cook this in the oven again, I will start at 30 min and go from there.

Chicken Rotini Stovetop Casserole

So this was very good and I would definitely make it again, but it was a bit bland. I added paprika on top when i ate it, as well as salt and pepper, but it still needed something. More cheese? Something spicy? Im not sure, but I'll play with this recipe.

Fried Rice with Cilantro

This was a great recipe! I added too much oil and so everything was waaay oily, but still really good. I think next time I will add some veggies or tofu to it though. And More cilantro because I'm in love with it.

Triple Berry Crisp

So this recipe was great! I only used 1 cup of brown sugar, but I could have stood more and still been fine. Stayed with the original amount of butter however and it turned out great. Would have been a lot better with whipped cream though!

Beef Heart Braised in Wine

So maybe I didnt do a good job cooking this or I just don't like heart very much (first time), but this did not turn out too great. The heart was very chewy and I did not care for the aftertaste. I will be trying heart again, just not this recipe.

This was great! Made this for a friend and myself tonight and I'm always worried about feeding people recipes I've never tried before, but he loved it! I wouldn't change anything, except maybe add more mushrooms, but only because I'm in love with them.

This was an interesting tasting dish. I love lamb, so I liked that, but it wasn't anything to rave about. I also didn't have mint though, so it would have changed the flavor a bit.
