Original NESTLE® TOLL HOUSE® Dark Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 18, 2011
Great chocolate chip cookies! I like to under bake them by a couple of minutes to keep that chewy soft texture.

Pork Chops & Stuffing Bake

Reviewed: Nov. 22, 2011
My pork chops were so thick, I decided to stuff them as well. I also added some sausage to the cornbread stuffing. Yum!

Crescent Pizza Pockets

Reviewed: Oct. 9, 2011
What a nice quick snack! Instead of putting the sauce on the inside, I made it more of a calzone with a touch of ricotta cheese. I brushed the top with olive oil and sprinkled on garlic salt and parmesan cheese. Yum.

Fresh Blackberries and Cream Ice Pops

Reviewed: Jul. 7, 2011
Delicious and easy to prepare! I couldn't find any ice pop molds at WalMart or Target (??) so I just made straight up ice cream. I didn't fully incorporate the blackberry puree because I wanted the contrast between the white frozen yogurt and dark fruit. I will definitely try this again, maybe with raspberries and some dark chocolate chips :)

Eggplant Slices, Tomatoes, and Mozzarella

Reviewed: Jul. 7, 2011
Delicious Summer side dish! Because my oven isn't working I wasn't able to bake it, but I served everything room temperature and it was great. Instead of just flouring the eggplant, I dipped it in egg and then bread crumbs before frying. I layered up the ingredients into a stack and dressed it at the last minute with the vinaigrette. Delish!

Green Chile Cheese Ball

Reviewed: Jun. 24, 2011
Delicious! I made half the recipe and, unfortunately, it was raining outside so I had to char the peppers on my gas burner. To make up for the "smoky" flavor of the grill, I added cumin but I actually added it to some raw pecans as they were toasting for outside of the cheese ball...turned out fabulously. It was delicious today; can't wait to try it tomorrow.

Almond Cupcake with Salted Caramel Buttercream Frosting

Reviewed: Jun. 17, 2011
These cupcakes are super delicious, but there are a couple things I changed while making the recipe as well as things I would do differently when making them again. First, I used all unsalted butter - not margarine or salted butter. Next, I double the amount of almond extract because I really wanted that flavor to shine through and 1 tsp just wasn't enough. Lastly, I had to add almost an additional cup of confectioner's sugar to the frosting because it was way too loose. In addition to my changes, I would definitely change the caramel recipe the next time around - it's too greasy. Instead I would make a "real" wet caramel (water and sugar) and omit any butter. To finish them, I topped them with slivered almonds and a sprinkle of fleur de sel. While I did make some changes, these cupcakes are sinfully good and I will definitely make them again.

Cream Puffs

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2009
Outstanding! The pudding is what makes this recipe. I followed the other reviews and poked a small hole in the pastry after taking it out of the oven. I piped them with the pudding and topped them with a homemade Bittersweet Chocolate Sauce. I could eat these everyday.

Grandmother's Buttermilk Cornbread

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2009
Absolutely fantastic. It was moist and flavorful...definitely my go-to recipe from now on. I can't wait to make it again with some additions (maybe jalapenos, cheese or green onion).

French Bread Rolls to Die For

Reviewed: Aug. 31, 2008
Good recipe but, for my taste, it seemed to be lacking in the salt department. Next time I make it, I'm going to make a sponge to give it more of a crusty outside and soft, tangy inside and add another teaspoon of salt. In the original recipes, I used olive oil instead of vegetable oil. Really easy recipe though...thank!

Southern Potato Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 10, 2008
Great recipe. So flavorful. Instead of mincing the garlic, I grated it. I also added a scant tablespoon of cider vinegar and used red potatoes (all I had). I will definitely make again.

Brooke's Best Bombshell Brownies

Reviewed: Apr. 28, 2008
Absolutely outrageous. So thick, chewy, and moist that you almost choke on them! I did add a teaspoon of instant coffee to the egg and sugar mixture...I like the intensity it gives the chocolate.

Premium Pizza Crust

Reviewed: Feb. 17, 2008
Good overall pizza dough. It took a lot more flour than anticipated (it might have been the weather), and it definitely needed more salt, but it was crisp and chewy. I split the dough in half and made focaccia bread with the other half...so good! I will definitely use this recipe again.

Streusel Topped Blueberry Muffins

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2008
The batter was so thick, I could hardly get them in the muffin tin. I agree that this batter is on the tasteless side, however I found them to be good. Next time I will make more streusel topping and layer it in between the batter. I'm still undecided as to what to add to this batter to make it shine.

Crusty French Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2008
This was a good, basic recipe. Instead of vegetable oil, I used Extra Virgin and I put a pan of hot water in the oven to give it a crispier crust. The overall density of the bread was too heavy for me, but it was extremely tasty.

Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2008
Flavor was a 5. I used 1 can of beef broth and a half a can of red wine. I seared the chuck roast off with onion powder, garlic powder, pepper and flour. I then deglazed the pan with the liquids. The roast was very moist and tender. Visually, I gave this recipe a 3. It doesn't look too appetizing, but it certainly was delicious.

Dutch Apple Pie with Oatmeal Streusel

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2007
Very tasty. The amount of streusel on top was almost a little much for me, but it was still excellent. After baking, I cooled it down completely and then heated it up in the microwave if people wanted it warm with ice cream...SO good!

Roast Sticky Chicken-Rotisserie Style

Reviewed: Sep. 17, 2007
I followed the recipe exactly as written, even marinating it overnight. The next day I started roasting it and it was up to temperature in 1 1/2 hours!!! Well I managed to keep it warm until dinnertime and surprisingly it still was moist and tasty, however it was not the "sticky" chicken I was hoping for. I think once I have my oven recalibrated (!) I'll try it again.
