About this Cook
I currently live in Seattle with my fiance and our two dogs. We both love to cook. We do our everyday weekly cooking, however we really enjoy whipping up a fancy meal on the weekends. I enjoy baking, but don't bake often since we are trying to tone up for our wedding next summer. We also like to entertain friends with a good meal, and whip up a batch of Beer Margaritas or open a bottle of wine.
My favorite things to cook
I like to bake cookies. I lived in Texas for some time and fell in love with Tex-Mex. I love pasta. My fiance makes pasta sauce from scratch and it is 100 times better than any canned stuff.
My cooking triumphs
In Texas they have these breakfast snacks called Kolaches. They are just as popular as your corner store doughnut store. Well after moving to Seattle I missed them dearly. I decided to make them myself. I made homeade dough, without a bread maker I might add. It was a pretty long process and they turned out great! I have since asked for a bread maker, to help out on the dough making process.
My cooking tragedies
It was Christmas day at a family members house and we were doing a pot-luck style. So I signed up to bring Green Bean Casserole, easy enough huh? Well not for me it wasn't. I went to my local organic market and bought all organic products (with the exception of the crispy onions). I made the casserole ahead of time, so that it was ready to just pop in the oven when we got there. I didn't reaize however that I added too much milk and forgot to add the salt/seasoning. Therefore, they turned out runny and not flavorful. We had plenty of other food at the dinner so nobody went starving. But leave it to me to mess up Green Bean Casserole.

Loved it! Was quick and easy, especially for a weeknight. Will make again and again.

Linda's Lasagna
This was the 1st from stratch lasagna that I've ever made. I used cottage cheese and was really good. I might try ricotta next time. I also might try and add some mushrooms or other veggies in it.
