Best Spanish Rice

Reviewed: Apr. 28, 2010
Absolutely delicious! I love when something so easy is so good. This is now going to be my go-to spanish rice. I think it also makes a difference on what salsa you use. I suggest using what is your favorite salsa, because that is where the true flavor comes from. Thank you for this perfect recipe!

Gooey Brownies with Shortbread Crust

Reviewed: Apr. 22, 2010
I was skeptical to try these with the mixed reviews, but I am so glad that I went with my instincts because these are delicious. I did change the white sugar to brown sugar for the shortbread crust, but otherwise kept it the same. I also chose to leave out the nuts, because of a personal preference. The brownies are exactly how we like them, gooey and melt in your mouth. If you like cake-like brownies this is definitely not a recipe for you, but if you like them gooey you should definitely give it a try. The chocolate bar adds just the right touch. This is a definite keeper!

So simple and so delicious. I did add a little salt and pepper, but kept the rest the same. It is an easy weeknight meal and the flavors are perfect. It is in my regular rotation.

Cheesy Sliced Potatoes

Reviewed: Apr. 21, 2010
Oh my! Who would have ever thought that it was this easy and fast to make delicious potatoes. I made them for dinner in probably 20 minutes, since I cut the recipe in half. Now, I wish I had made the full serving, because the leftovers would probably be out of this world. This is definitely a keeper in my house and I'm now planning what meal I can make them with next. Thanks for the awesome recipe!

Avocado Feta Salsa

Reviewed: Apr. 18, 2010
Absolutely delicious salsa. I did switch out the parsley and oregano for cilantro, because I felt it went better. I also added a little jalapeno for heat and a squirt of lemon. The avocado and feta make it so creamy. It is definitely a refreshing salsa, any time of the year. Thanks for the keeper!

Rachel's Tomato Basil Soup

Reviewed: Apr. 18, 2010
This is a good basic soup. I did feel it needed some more seasoning so I added salt, pepper and onion powder. I also added about a tablespoon of brown sugar to tone down the acidity. I think next time I might try omitting the butter to see if it is really needed. I served it over a bowl of rice. My family really enjoyed it. Thanks!

Italian Bread Using a Bread Machine

Reviewed: Apr. 18, 2010
This is the easiest and most forgiving bread and most of all it is absolutely delicious. I left it in the bread machine for an extra four hours and it still made beautiful bread. I usually top it with sesame seeds, poppy seeds, chopped onion and garlic. This is definitely better than store bought bread. Thanks Destiny for this perfect bread!

best mocha drink, EVER!

Reviewed: Apr. 15, 2010
OMG these are too good to be true! I made a double batch and I think I've already finished half of it. This is now going to be my go-to drink for the summer, instead of all those expense coffee drinks. Thanks geranium for an awesome recipe!

Black Bean Cigars

Reviewed: Apr. 14, 2010
I was a little worried that I wouldn't actually like these, but boy was I wrong. They are absolutely delicious. The blend of flavors is perfect. I think the potato adds just the right amount of "meatiness" to these. My husband didn't even mind that they were vegetarian, which is a far stretch for him. I topped them with a little sour cream and green onions. Perfect! Thanks for the recipe imdd!

Black Beans, Corn, and Yellow Rice

Reviewed: Apr. 14, 2010
I thought this was quite delicious. It is an easy fast meal or side dish that goes well with an array of food. I made it with the black bean cigars from here and they went perferct. I did add some cilatnro as others recommended, but I think it would be just as good without it. I used Zatarain's yellow rice mix and I think that made all the difference. Thanks tahoe girl for a delcious recipe!

Fabulous Zucchini Grinders

Reviewed: Apr. 14, 2010
This is a 10 star recipe! I cannot believe something so simple is so absolutely delicious. It was fast and easy. I think it is now my favorite grinder. I think using a good sauce (I used Nanny's Spaghetti Sauce) was the most important part. I highly recommend this to anyone, especially if you have an overabudance of zucchini. I can't wait to make it again!

Cheesy Potato Salad

Reviewed: Apr. 8, 2010
A 10 star recipe! I have never liked potato salad until now. This is like eating a loaded baked potato, but only better. The only thing I did different was to use real bacon, beacuse it is what I had on hand. The leftovers are even better the next day as the flavors have blended even more. I can't wait to take this to all the picnics this summer, as I know it is going to be a total hit. Thank you Kennedy for this delicious recipe.

Honey Balsamic Vinaigrette

Reviewed: Apr. 8, 2010
If I could give this more than 5 stars I would. I fell in love with this the first time I made it. Since then I haven't used any other dressing. I love how the balsamic vinegar and honey taste together. Just make sure to blend it well otherwise the onions and garlic leave little chunks, which still tastes good but the texture makes it a little off.

Homemade Black Bean Veggie Burgers

Reviewed: Apr. 8, 2010
Absolutely delicious! These are so easy and quite cheap that I will never buy another veggie burger again. I did get carried away chopping the onions, garlic and peppers in the food processor. It caused excess water, but I just blotted it with papertowels and that seemed to work just fine. I served them with cheddar cheese and a lime and jalapeno sour cream sauce. Thanks for the great recipe!

Skillet Apple Brownie

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2010
Absolutely delicious! I made it exactly as written. When it was baking I was a little worried about the amount of spices, but once I tried it I realized they are the perfect amount. It is a fast and easy dessert that I highly recommend everyone trying. And it's even better warm with vanilla ice cream. Thanks Evin!

Mike's Signature Pretzel Bread

Reviewed: Feb. 24, 2010
If I could give this a million stars I would...five just doesn't do it justice. This is hands down the BEST bread I have ever had, and it was really quite easy to make. I should have listened and doubled the recipe, because I know the two small loaves will be gone by dinner. I also didn't use four quarts of water...I used two quarts of water with only a 1/4 cup of the baking soda and it worked out just fine (it personally seemed like a waste). Thank you, thank you, thank you Kathleen for finding such a delicious recipe!

Paula's Bread Sticks

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2010
These are absolutely wonderful breadsticks. I did let them rise a little too long so they were huge, but nonetheless they were perfect. I was a bit skeptical about being bland, but the sesame seeds add just the right touch. This is now going to be my go-to breadstick recipe.
